I start reading Ulysses by Irish writer James Joyce. I tried to read this modernist novel several times already, but the maximum reached the third chapter. This time I want to read to the end, no matter how long it takes me. In addition to Ulysses, I read articles on the site https://edubirdie.com/examples/psychology/ that deal with the issue of psychology, including clinical psychology. I made a list of psychological books for myself that I would like to read this year.

To Kill A Mockinbird by Harper Lee is one I read when I was younger and reread it a couple of years ago and then gave it to my girlfriend to read - really can't recommend it highly enough!

 

Read Brave New World but is tehre a sequel? By Huxley?

Reading through the other suggestions here I was struck by the discussion on "Regional English"
Being originally from Edinburgh I had read a lot of Irvine Welsh before coming to London. When I met my now Slovakian girlfriend of 19 years, i was amazed to find her reading Trainspotting. Her English wasn't that good back then but somehow his phonetic verse made sense to her??? So maybe give that a try? Perhaps to a non English speaker things written down as they sound helps?

I recommend Teatro Grottesco by Thomas Ligotti, to anyone who's into the weird fiction genre. It's like reading a madman's fever dream.

 

I'd recommend reading a tech or science book. They are concise with English, and you'd learn some cool things about technology and life at the same time, which could inspire your music too. How about starting with "Home Studio Mixing Secrets" or something like that. There's a site that has almost every book in demand.
