Hello, is there anyone who has gotten the previous versions of the V collection WITHOUT the SQ80 V and then later updated to the versions WITH the SQ80, and someone who also has Pigments 3 seperate? If so, is it even worth it to update it?

I know its just an uninstall and reinstall, but I also have Pigments 3, and I have that separate, so if I uninstall the V collection, most likely it will also uninstall my Pigments 3.

The version I got a while ago had an old version of pigments so it is most likely still gonna recognize it as the same pigments and uninstall all of it aswell when I uninstall V collection. ( I have 3.5, the old one had like 3.0)

I don't know if its even worth it to uninstall the V collection install this one then most likely reinstall Pigments 3, then fix up Pigments 3 so it actually works (3.5 version error) and then re-add all the presets and all that other stuff, is the SQ80 even worth it for that cause?

You are always best doing a clean uninstall and then reinstall the latest full update. This can apply to Scene stuff even more, because of the various methods different teams may employ; sometimes not coexisting, or just doing unexpected stuff when installed in slipshod order.
Nothing adds some new excitement to a project like a random 0dB beep! :excl::rofl:

I have never uninstalled and installed updates for anything ever. I just install right over and I've never had as problem with anything ever working except the psp infinity be strip working in samplitude. I think you will be alright just installing over everything.

Thanks guys, I will try installing over the current, see how that works out!

P.S @softice I suggest removing that link to sister site, its most likely breaking the rules.

Pigments isn't part of the V collection so it shouldn't touch it at all. I don't own the whole collection (just Pigments and SQ80), but the SQ80 was definitely worth buying on its own. The sad part about it is ever since the software came out, the price of real SQ80s went from like $2-300 to almost $1000 in the last few months.

    Update:

So I installed over the older V collection, and everything actually worked fine, except Pigments 3, it gave me a GUI error, however it wasn't the distocontainer bug we had before, so I re-installed Pigments and redid everything.

Welp, I mean it did something to Pigments, so thats something.
I'm playing around with the SQ80 and I can definetly see why it's so hyped up. This instrument is actually really cool. I wish I had a hardware synth, but broke boys are broke IG.

Thanks for the inputs people have said.

It depends if it's worth the update to you. Personally if it's not something I'm dying to have, then I don't need an update unless they are putting out a batch of synths. I would wait if I were you but maybe you really want an SQ80.

A Youtube influencer talked me into getting the bundle years ago but as time progressed I realized their GUIs were nice but other companies were emulating the same synths from their bundle better. Who knows, but this may change with time.

Yeah there's so many others out there you're bound to already have one or two. The SQ80 is the odd man of the bunch. The collection is nice, I get pretty offers to upgrade because I own Pigments, the SQ80 and a few of the plugins, but Im not even going to use half of it. Already got TAL's Jupiter and Juno (and Sampler), Repro, the Moogs I could care less about, the Buchla I got more than covered with my actual modular, etc. The CZ and Matrix 12 would be nice but that about does it for me. Maybe I could start a new trend of Farfisa drum and bass or something hah.

Totally agree with everything you've said. Buchla makes my head spin because I don't know where to start and how to get it to sound decent. That's because all modular synths do that to me though, I think. It's weird because I used to lust after modular synths until I tried them.

Pigments is another story because it was trying to be itself instead of emulating something else. I don't like how it looks but I can get it to sound pretty damn good. I use it for basses, textures and atmospheric sounds.

Synapse - The Legend is a much better Moog.

Yeah, I agree with what some of yall have said. I'm definitely going to remove some of the synths in the V Collection, because not all of them interest me. Maybe I was really looking forward to the SQ80, and honestly. this synth is actually pretty cool, one of the synths I will keep when I have the chance to remove some synths in the collection.

This SQ80 is the only Arturia synth I'm using, slowly checking it out. I used to have an ESQ-1 which was the older brother of the SQ-80, and if my memory serves, this homage sounds close to my old keyboard though this one seems a bit more "crunchy" sounding. I'll give it a little more time testing before I might buy it for nostalgic reasons.
