Electronic & Ambient - Please post your favorite Electronic & Ambient bands here.

A synthesizer (also spelled synthesiser) is an electronic musical instrument that generates audio signals. Synthesizers generate audio through methods including subtractive synthesis, additive synthesis, and frequency modulation synthesis. These sounds may be shaped and modulated by components such as filters, envelopes, and low-frequency oscillators.

    Klaus Schulze - Moondawn (1976)

    Klaus Schulze - Timewind (1975)

    Klaus Schulze - Moonlake (2005)

Klaus Schulze (born 4 August 1947) is a German electronic music pioneer, composer and musician

Since the concept of ambient includes many different subgenres, I will allow myself to list very different artists.
The first ambient record I've hear was Brian Eno's - Ambient 1(music for airports)(still one on of favs.)

    Muslimgauze - Mullah Said

    Coil - Red Queen

    FSOL - Cascade

    Bad Sector - CMASA 1,3

And finally, I want to share a masterpiece, It's not ambient actually, but it will not spoil the thread(I'm sure).
Sergey Kuryokhin - "Sparrow Oratorium - Summer"

Yes. They stand out from the majority of psybient musicians in quality.
I was even lucky to play at two open-airs with their participation. In several interviews, they called one of them the best in their life. But overall, psybient music is quite mediocre. Ultimae Records managed to gather interesting musicians. But, in my opinion, they remained within the original sound. The situation is similar to the entire psi-trance scene. You can draw a parallel with Zenon Records, the guys who are fixated on a very monotonous sound, which has ceased to amaze for 15 years already. But It's just my opinion.

JMJ really is what first got me interested in electronic music. My dad introduced me to his music back in the early 80s (I might have been only about 10 at the time, if even), and I pretty much fell in love. Then add in works by artists others mentioned here - Carpenter, Vangelis - and also Wendy Carlos' Tron soundtrack, and I was pretty hooked on the vintage synth sound.

As it happens, I dug the CD for this out of my loft just before Christmas when getting
    the Christmas decorations.

I had forgotten just how good and trippy this is.

A lot of people on know the KLF from their hit singles but they have done so much more.

Blissed out and Trippy are good descriptions of this album.

Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys, Girls and everything in-between, I give you...

'Electronic' is a pretty broad genre, I'll kick off with some downtempo, typical chill out music.

Sisy Ey - Ain't Got Nobody (Tonik Remix). There are many versions of this track. This one is a nice laid-back one.

Richard D. James, AKA Aphex Twin, back then known as AFX, with the title track of his debut album from 1991, Analogue Bubblebath

UK duo Autechre; from their first LP Incunabula, back then they were still pretty easygoing,
in Autechre terms that is. Basscadet:

Swedish Electronic & Ambient artist Solar Fields has an impressive discography.
I Really dig his track, Cocoon Moon, in the Glastonbury festival mix:

No electronic without a couple tracks of the German duo Monolake.
    Bicom:

    Arte:

Titletrack of the classic Man Machine album by Kraftwerk. Apparently there's a 2009 Re-master,
but I prefer the 1978 original

Yeah Pete passing away really gutted me too man. Tetsu may have disappeared out of public eye. But he really left us all some legendary albums. Some of the best stuff I’ve ever heard.

Of course!!!How could i forgot of them/ One of my favs.)

I'm also a ultra(world:))-big fan of The Orb( got all of the LP'-first press, and almost all of the EP's), especially their early albums.
The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld

    U.F.Orb

I'm not the OP but maybe it would be better to have classical ambient/ambient of different genres and electronica(related to it) stuff here. Trip-Hop or IDM is nice(I adore Boards of Canada sa well 80's- mid 00's Warp rec), but it differs from the genres of this thread. We can go far from the basic idea this way. Monolake is a nice example of a proper stuff(as well as Hosini's track), but not Morcheeba(commercial trip-hop) or Sisy Ey(dub-techno) . Just my opinion.
