I was looking for some feedback from any one who owns at least 2 of the following headphones AND uses them for mixing or mastering-

    AKG K712
    Superlux HD681F
    Superlux HD681 Evo
    Superlux HD681
    Superlux HD681B

If you do not own or have owned in the past at least 2 of these please do not reply.

I am looking for feedback on sound only particularly how flat they sound, aesthetics and comfort I am not so worried about as these can be altered easy enough.

If you can input, here are some points I would like to know-

    1. Which do you prefer using and why and your overall rating /10 for both
    2. How do they compare in
    soundstage /10
    clarity and accuracy /10
    balance-
    lows /10
    mids /10
    highs /10
    3. Anything else you care to add in comparison.
    4. Also how easy they are to drive with audio interface, I'm using Focusrite scarlett gen 2.

I realize there is a large difference in price between the AKG and superlux but would like to get an idea of how far apart they are sound wise.

I am on a budget and am currently weighing up the pros and cons of purchasing the superlux now or saving up and getting the AKG.

    Your feedback is much appreciated.

I have the SuperLux B and they sound really nice TBH, I must admit the High's cut through nice! maybe a tad too much but they sound great for the price, also if you dont like the high's like that I have read somewhere there is a simple mod. The pads are ok but a little on the shallow side.
They was a little tight on my head at first and I stretched them open abit to help with that but I do have a massive head sooo!
I also use a U-phoria UMC to use for a headphone amplifier.
Edited- Sorry for some reason I didnt read the bit that said you need to own 2 I just jumped in to give my 2 cents MB.. Plus I guess you already sourced them already.

superlux products have an inferior workmanship and are not really suitable for serious work and studio use. superlux products can definitely be a sensible investment for the home and hobby.

I have had AKG and superlux headphones in my studio ... close to each other in terms of price and appearance, but AKG is more valuable in the details.

it is better to save a little more and buy Audio-Technica or Beyerdynamic .... in the long run it is worth the investment

I only speak from my own experience and it is a subjective experience report

I deleted my reply. I am done spending time writing helpful answers without getting any feedback or a simple thanks.

Hi, don't hesitate to save up to buy AKGs, the headphones are on your head, the comfort counts and the sound even more!

Thank you for your reply's, I have been away for awhile due to costly computer malfunctions. Am still looking for my long term HP's and due to the previously mentioned nightmare am now even more financially strapped. But I have made the decision to get the K712's I'm currently saving, it will be a long road but hopefully worth it.
