First of all, i have some knowledge in music theory, and can create melodies and harmonize it, all by ear.

Now i want to know something new, what i can't figure out by myself.
Looking for course that explain:

• Fundamental steps for creating melody
• How to work with melody rhythm
• how make interesting, memorable melodies
• Harmony & Melody
• Any Rules in melody creating

Look out for Quantize courses. A few years old now, but cover the fundamentals and should still be available to download on certain parts of the internet.

 

This works for some ...

1. Get a midi keyboard
2. Install Scaler 2
3. Press some keys
4. Observe the onscreen data
5. Take note of the musical interactions you like

I past this level long time ago, now all i want, know something totally new

 

prob not. just fuck around and make music without paying much attention to any of that stuff and you'll discover more unique and personal things anyway. the key is to not think too much about it

 

There is nothing new under the sun

Everything music theory related is already inside Scaler, so why reinvent the wheel? If you just want to pass some music theory exams then get the relevant books from the ABRSM

My brother attended The Royal Academy of Music and he gave me all the books that were required reading for his music degree. Having dental treatment without anaesthetic would have been a more pleasurable experience! Music Theory for Dummies was pretty cool though

OP is trying to learn how to compose intentionally. What you suggest might be considered an insult in this context.

HOWEVER

You sure? Try clicking the second link. It's pretty much all about fundamentals. Does have a few track breakdowns, but you don't expect to learn without examples, do you?

 

The way I see it there is doing, and there is reading about doing. Personally speaking, I tend to go with my ears and just get on with it, which is the way most popular music has been created over the past 70 years or more. But as I stated above, if anybody want's to go down the music theory road, then just get the books and take the exams. Anything else will muddle the brain

Hum or whistle or sing or play the melody inside of you. I am of the feeling that one cannot be taught to write a melody because it is not an intellectual exercise but rather an emotional state made manifest and enabled to be heard. YMMV.

 

Exactly, music theory is an intellectual exercise, just like the relationship between pure and applied mathematics.

What did I say?

 

No course can teach you how to make a melody - good melody at least - because its not a formulated thing and even if its was it would be very complex to teach an easier way is to listen to music you like search for the notes and chords if you cant figure them out yourself and try to break down exactly what you like and what makes it good its a tedious process but will teach you stuff you cant find in any course or book
