I have 3 Noctua NF-A15 fans in my case and they have been rock solid and quiet for over a year now. 2 of them are mounted onto a Noctua NH-D15S CPU cooler so you should be able to do the same.

Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-3000 PWM, Heavy Duty Cooling Fan, 4-Pin, 3000 RPM (140mm, Black)

What kind of CPU cooler do you have? The Noctua is 140mm and yours is 120mm, that doesn't fit.
You also have to connect it (4 PIN), what kind of socket type do you have?
If you have already installed a fan, you are missing a connection for the 4 pin.

Not knowing what model of cooler you have negates answering your question. What I will say is this. If you require a 3000 RPM fan to cool your CPU, maybe rethink the choice of cooler being used.

What CPU & cooler models are you working with?

    P.S.
Newegg still includes the shipping cost in their "Free Shipping".

if would probably fit, but i m not sure the fan alone replaced on your cpu cooler would give any improvement

The Noctua web site has Buying Guides and a compatibility list (for their coolers) by CPU, motherboard, case, and RAM on their web site which is extensive. It kept me from buying a cooler/fan(PWM) which wasn't compatible with my CPU due to one of the CPU base clock speeds. I have a bunch of their products, and you should find what will work both electrically and mechanically for your build. They are very high quality, with 6 year warranties.

Since youre going up in fan size, it depends on your cooler. If its the tower style with the fins and your existing fan is held on with the spring clips, it should still fit. but if its like a screwed connection the holes wont line up.

How much money do you want to spend ?

    Warning !!!

The industrialPPC models are high-speed fans for industrial applications. As such, they are not as quiet as other Noctua fans and less suited for low-noise PC builds. Unless you specifically require the higher speeds and performance of the industrialPPC versions, we recommend using models of our other product lines (chromax if you prefer black fans) instead.
