They have their own SKD -> Reason Rack SDK
VST SDK is owned and maintained by Steinberg. It's just a popular format, mainly because they kinda invented it and now we stuck with it, thank Zeus we get to choose to not use their DAW.

It's just another format for plugins, and as usual Plugin Dev have the option if they want to make their plugin in RE format. Not all plugin design can work in Reason RE Environment because it has some strict latency range and the plugin has to able to work in modular environment because of how the Rack is designed, mainly because of the Standalone and VST option it offers. As for now the offer wrapper RE to use only VST2 (not sure about AU) in the DAW.

Regarding the flood, keep em flooding. Sister site has search function and navigation panel on the left and please subs to the newsletter to get all the updates of releases.

That is, are you simply requesting a Mac version? Sorry I did not understand, I thought you had a problem with extensions on Reason

 

Yeah, for us Windows users all those Mac releases are just so much garbage and wasted space. Best they just take that crap off somewhere else so we don't have to worry about it.

As we're in the majority, you'd be doing us all a favour, amirite?

 

Hi Hammer, not really a request because I don't use Reason but rather an observation. My point was: Our gently uploaders make money from our downloads and if they don't all own Reason they won't download their posts. My post was rather directed at them, almost a suggestion...

There's a reason that all REs on sister site post in Windows session.
You can browse to mac session on left side navigator menu on sister site to skip all the flood.

If new year waves are real, I think this is the right time to flood. REs never been release before so their are many of them (700-800 REs regarding official site)

 

i remember using reason rewire with ableton live long time ago, its nice to see this and this DAW being its own thing

 

I cannot understand what you are saying, however our beloved uploaders are only distributors, they almost never have an active part in the release of a software, they only distribute what the teams deliver to them. So asking the distributors to crack a software doesn't make any sense. However for requests you have to use the request session on sister site. Because doing them here is just confusing, and the classic mac vs win war starts

 

As you now have understood it was not my intention to create a storm but only to suggest to our dear friends uploaders (I have often had contact with many of them) that they would make more money if both platforms would download their posts and use that money to buy new products to share with us.

Yes, of course, but in many cases it is not up to them. When they get the chance, they release both versions, in this case not.
However, one important thing must be said: Reason Rack Extensions are not soundbanks, or library data, but real separate software themselves. So in the future, if codemeter will be defeated on Mac, and will have a large distribution of extensions, every single rack has to be released again. Because all this huge collection released in recent months is Windows software only

I don't think it's a question of capacity, as you imply. After all, the REs were usually relatively small.
I think the uploaders have some sort of plan for what they want to post and when.
If we don't like the plan, we won't be able to change it.
I myself have no interest in RS but there are some users who are happy about it.

 

Me neither, but having more stuff available is just a good thing. Yes, even those trap kits.

 

Of course. It is also enough for me if it is useful for other users. then I am happy for them. Even for Mac users
Its just no loss for me, when others are happy.

Hey, it's fine. We get it completely. The stuff YOU want is important. The stuff other people want, not so much.

Be careful what you wish for though, should you really want to go down that route.

But I'm into strange noises and using Reason more as a modular noise playground rather than a purely musical one...but that's not to say they can't be musical of course

There's nothing I want (apart from a date with Angelina Jolie).

I only use LogicPro, 15/20 audio plugs, about ten AU Instruments and, of course, many Drums and Samples.
I only record my own songs and don't need anything else, but I like to try out new things and new technologies.
