i wanted to be able to grab that point and automate it as i drag it around.....i tried touch automation in reaper it didn't work...

hi @samsone, are you sure thats even possible? in xfer's serum one is able to modulate lfo curve points. but that was introduced as a special feature, its nothing ordinary. i dont know any other synth with such a possibility.

 

I'm not sure it is possible either. There is no Midi Learn assignment tooltip thing. Logic does not record Latch automation of that parameter either. I wrote some bs automation data to various LFO parameters and it looks like certain ones are just ignored

 

It's not possible.

If you look at the mod matrix, create a new mapping (use whatever as the source, say, Macro 1) now click Destination, then pick "LFOs" in the list and then you'll see all the modulatable parameters of the LFOs. The points are not there, so they're not a mappable destination I'm afraid.

It is the only drawback of MSEGs when compared to something like Hive 2 or Twin 2 by Fabfilter.

 

He's talking about the wave of the LFO, which you can manipulate in Serum, not an MSEG.

 

twin2 does have a very neat midi learn button feature, where you enable it and each parameter shows a tooltip with it's current CC.

I think the OP may be trying to use all freeware, re Vital. maybe just more points and lower frequency will be long enough for the effect?

cool! indeed, one is able to modulate every single step in twin 2's lfos. @samsome, is using freeware mandatory?

 

this lfo will let you draw many points, but it may look like you cannot, until you zoom out. or something. you can make enough "automation data/changes" to not leave the plugin. (as long as you are ok with a loop at some point).

if you set the mode to sync, set one point as a starting point the automation "playback" will begin there and follow the entire "wave". many measures worth of movement, anyway. you can import/export and load lfo preset type data files. I get more impressed with this synth every time I open it, but I have Serum and always go to it first.
