I like that his producer uses DPA 4006a microphones even for his vocals as well.

I can not stand those super "high end" microphones with a strange frequency response. Always have to be lucky that it sounds right. I rather do the equalizing myself.

Saw him in Stockholm last summer at a free concert in the city park. The dude still has it and was a top quality performance!

His ideas about song writing are quite interesting, as are his views on the music industry in general. It's nice to see an interview that has some depth to it.

I never liked Sting for some reason. Neither his music nor him as a character. But this interview was great. I like him a little more now.

And Rick Beato is always worth seeing. Love him.

Did you know that Sting is called that because he once wore a stripey outfit that was yellow and black? Also because he's a right, pestering little twat who annoys everyone at picnics!

Does anyone know a good Police song, btw? Trick question! Because there aren't any! (Sry, Police fan)

Fun Fact: Sting (the wrestler) owns the name 'Sting'. Sting (the singer) apparently pays him $1 per year for the right to use it.

i'm a big fan of both men. 'Fortress Around Your Heart' is one of the greatest songs ever written, in my opinion.

I sat directly in front of Sting's then perhaps fiance Trudy and Tom Hanks and his wife when I saw him for his 40th birthday celebration at the Hollywood Bowl. I had good seats. The show was freaking great.

Here I fixed it for you. Here's my boy Guitarstruggles Making a total fool of himself:

Mate what Bollocks that video is. I have one of Beato's guitar courses, I use it to practice. Unlike your mate, he's interviewing some of the greatest names in guitar playing. His analysis is fresh, musical and clever.. unlike your mate's shit humor.

That version of Message In A Bottle is great, and it gives you a different perpective of the song. You even get a glimpse of Sting's finger playing style which he mentions in the interview. I'm going to try that on my P-bass, as I am mainly a pick player and never felt comfortable playing traditional finger style. The dude on the guitar is playing very evenly, so practising J.S. Bach must work!
