I have the r2r v12 installed and I used reason's search for the word matrix, and it comes up empty. I would think it would show in a search if it was a standard part. Tell me how to find it if it's already there. I have the RE downloaded now so I will install it, but please tell me where else it is.

It's under "Utilities" in reason. It's not a player device. You'll need to manually hook it up via CV

I found it. Thanks. Obviously it is different than the RE, and I will be looking at the differences between these. Not the same thing. So glad I have these posts to refer to. I'm learning at leaps and bounds with some good help. Thank you for pointing this out. I learned some things in this thread for sure. This type of help is why I don't mind helping others when I get a chance. :mates:

If you haven't looked at the RE that is listed on the sister site, have a look. Totally different ballgame.

Like others I was happy to see R2R version so I could try R12 (was on 11 Suite) and then be able to actually use the software I paid for without having to be online (they only allow one offline liscence and I often switch between several personal music comps) and to secure such going forward. I was already fed up with them as a company and so didn’t want to give them another penny. I ended up buying legit R12 upgrade and told myself it was the last. Mainly for hi res and combi 2 and to give them bendefit of doubt after their roadmaps etc.?I’ve not installed the R2R version yet as not all my go to res are covered and I’m for once just using the one computer, but I will never upgrade again after seeing how poorly they’ve done with their roadmap and how they continue to take the piss out of long term users. At some point I’ll switch to R2R version for good and use rack in another daw ( which I legit own too).

Yeah, i would love to supply bought extensions, too. But i don't want to hand out my licence. Count me in if i can do it the way it works for falcon - extension & cache file.

Do you mean Overloud's REMatrix? That is no Reason Extension. And Maya Matrix Edition is a synth.

A tool for us to convert our REs would be really, really cool.

You mean like convert to vst3 or some format that would work outside of Reason? Hell yeah, that would be a dream come true.

I've found that there are a handful of synths (Parsec, Oberon, etc.) available as REs that look like really great tools. However, most of the others are either very forgettable or available elsewhere as VSTs (Synapse, Rob Papen, etc.).

S0 aside from those few useful REs, there really is no reason to use Reason (no pun intended) or RR because it's such a hassle...

And just for the record (literally), anything I do professionally, whether for clients, live recordings, demo sessions etc, will not be released without proof of licenses for every piece of software used. At any given time, I can provide proof of purchase (licensing information) on any product used during production. This is also why I have a "clean" production machine and a "pirate box" respectively.

That being said, I've been using audio warez since the days when Radium was a major player, but I've always had the same philosophy "try before buy". Mostly I use k'd versions out of convenience, to try out or as a backup option if someone breaks the internet (it's gonna happen sooner or later).
I'm not trying to "stick it" to companies who make questionable marketing/licensing decisions. That's not what (I think) the warez scene is about. Again, convenience is the answer here and I think the scene groups deserve just as much thanks as the developers for all their hard work.

    ...just my 2 cents.

I am intrigued by Lectric.Panda.CV.Player.Tap. I read that it will convert output from some of these sequencers into MIDI where there was no other way to do this. Some I looked at didn't seem to have drag and drop MIDI options (that I saw). I read this is supposed to allow grabbing MIDI from them. I was not able to find any manual or video (in English). Hoping it is intuative. Looks like we just route the out (CV?) from the sequencer into the cv player tap device and then the button at the top of it allows this. Hope it's that simple.

The one and only RE I'm interested in (although there are many that seem quite good) is Bassline Generator. It seems to be quite a good tool for the job, but I can't see myself bothering to install the Reason Rack VST just for one thing. It also isn't cracked yet. edit: oops, I stand corrected.

wakey wakey.. yes the Reason VST rack has been reverse-engineered by R2R and it works floorlessly.:rofl:You don't have to open Reason, only the rack inside your DAW.

The Reason 12 ecosystem is a very very powerful and versatile production, composition, and sound design tool. I couldn't give a shit what others say, it sounds excellent. The VST Reason Rack inside any DAW is a serious weapon.

OK, I'm a dope, because I couldn't find the Reason Rack VST anywhere. But looks like that's part of the Reason 12 install.. is that right? Do you actually need to install all of Reason for it, or can you just install the rack VST?
