I speak to many who say they feel same. I really wonder how well their reason+ is doing. I hope it’s tanking. So many of the long term users I know, a bunch who talked me into getting it and subsequently piling thousands into their company, say the same, they can’t wait to leave.

Sure. I bought Reason 9 for 399,-, then the upgrade to 10 for 129,- finally another 129.- (thanks to black friday, normally 199.- now) for the next upgrade to 12 and i have to admit from 10 to 12 it doesn't advance that much to justify that price, at least not for my usage. But what f*cks me up the most is that a user who just bought Reason 1.0 years ago on a one-time purchase get's the same price for version 12 than me who already upgraded 2 times. That's not fair. Plus, the good new stuff has to be purchased extra.

I like Reason's SSL 9000 mixer along with the Bus Comp. Very nice feature, shame it doesn't saturate at all

Falcon and Reason DAW both are called "toys" by a lot of members in the sister site (more than 20 times in the comment section by different people) so I assuming large part of the members in there are non-electronic music enthusiast/professionals or just a mixer or some sort or simply think Reason isn't a good DAW. Both waves of release annoys a lot of people and they are asking for it to stop, verbally (or comment rather) so that's why the wave finally stopped. Falcon libraries post slowed down maybe because the catalogue is almost completed but Reason REs stopped because maybe it didn't really excites big part of the community and maybe it didn't hit certain numbers expected by the crackers and suppliers alike so they probably think people dont need it. Only 1 out of 10 from people in my life that been doing music use Reason, so yeah it is not a popular DAW these days I guess.

I personally enjoy both releases and still hoping for R2R to atleast complete the more familiar Propellerhead REs such as the players. I didn't aware that Propellerhead has such reputation mentioned by the OP, and yes the price for proprietary license is a little too high for a DAW that needs a lot of extensions to perform best and lacks a lot of features compared to other popular DAW and.. VST3... Also a little too high for people using it as plugin like me.

I would buy it if it is 299 in my currency, but would anyone buy it for 2000 dollars/euro even if you are living in the US or Europe ? not a chance I assume.

Having invested so much cash into Reason upgrades (every upgrade since version 8, which I paid $399 for), plus the RE's I've bought over the years, it was a blessing to see R2R's version dropped. At least I can forever use the standard version without having to worry that RS drops perpetual licenses. It would be really nice if we saw more RE and players drop though.
Also, there seems to be a weird bug where you can't open projects made in legit versions and vice-versa, R2R projects won't open in legit versions. Maybe that's a codemeter emu fix though idk.
Either way, I'm so thankful to at least have the basic version that I can use on my offline recording PC.

I use softlink (junction) for both the RE and Reason Additional Content (7GB of them) on the Document folders. Not sure about hard link though.

For Falcon I kindly disagree. I have rarely seen so much commitment and passion for UVI Soundbanks, Falcon has received enormous hype and positivity. The iLok-R2R effect today is unbeatable imo. For Reason yes, let's say that the welcome was a little lukewarm. And the extensions were a little snubbed

The point of using the R2R version (for me at least) is that I can use it offline without the hassle of RS offline authorization system or constantly having to log in. Also, I've legit bought a lot of REs over the years, mostly when they used to have Black Friday sales or May Madness. This year, there was NO Black friday sale for Reason Studio's own RE, so that's also another sign that they don't care about perpetual license holders. Ever since Reason+ was announced, it's been going in a bad direction for license holders and I don't think it'll get better in future.
Also, I never really made any songs in standalone anyway, because standalone sucks as a DAW. Thankfully patch loading and saving works flawlessly across R2R and legit versions. I have many patches made over the years.

So, that being said, there's every reason to use R2R's version...I see it as a "Future proof backup option" for my legit investment.

Even the fact that there is no boxed (DVD) version of Reason 12 available sucks.

is there any way to make the R2Rcache files by myself ?
as a Legit user i have many RE´s i want to use with the R2R version, but i don´t find a way to port them to the R2R Version.

With the Release of Falcon, R2R did a Great Job making it possible for every one to release Libs. Why not the same way for Reason ?

Also the File Incompatible thing is anyoing but if there is no other way it´s ok for me.

It's nothing of the sort. If it was "technically theft in law" it would be covered by the theft act. It's copyright infringement and regardless of how often copyright holders repeat this canard in the hopes of stigmatizing people as thieves instead of an act that until very recently was just a civil tort, it still doesn't make it true.

yeah, I was thinking the same more than once.

I have had a subscription to their REs shop for far too long,. long before they went into Reason+ and still have many of the RE files on my disk. If there was a tool to make our own R2Rcache files it would be a breeze to supply them. Even for others. everyone with a legit license could just trial these damn REs and make a R2R file of them and share away...

Somehow tho, in the meantime, switching to Live and enjoying all the exotic crazy stuff that M4L coders have come up with, I find that I do not miss Reason or even their more attractive (3rdparty) REs that much.

Robotic Bean Sequences although is still highly regarded. Have not found anything like it outside

i hope for a Release of the new Bassline RE, also i hope for all the other Player RE´s as they are simply NICE....
but all i see is that the RE´s are not released as fast as the Falcon Libs. and i also miss a Update of the Roland Cloud Apps.

But what is a Synth against the tousands of EG´s, Filters, Channel Strips and Mixing tools arround the Globe ???

I am a legit reason 11 user, paid and have an account, but I am now using reason 12 from the sister site and love it. Glad to have it. I like the re(s) too. Would love to see them appear. The more I use r12 the more I am liking it. Just learned how to use blocks as markers, since they don't have actual markers in their daw that I know of. It's a good work around. I still have others I use, but mostly because I am more familiar with them. I just like the way reason feels, and I am getting better and better with it. Bring them on!

This sounds like something I would be interested in. I am going to keep my eyes open for this and look for it.

The matrix pattern sequencer has been a standard part of reason since version 1.0

Makes you wonder why they would release it as an RE. I found it as an RE on the sister site and am now downloading it. Why would this be released as an RE if it is a standard part of reason? What am I missing here? No matter. I am dl-ing it now regardless of whether or not it is a standard part since v1.0.
