I have reset the permissions of that folder to +rw for everyone. and that was applied to enclosed files. still no change.

Just created a different administrator account. Tried with that account but the same situation occured again.

I'll wait 10.7.2 update for the logic pro to see if that helps.

I would try using OSX Validate All AUs.app. something is not working out with your Logic AU Validation tool when you are opening Logic. Then you have all the Waves stuff trying to pass first validation at the same time...

Did a little research about this issue on internet. they all had previous installations which caused the issue. try these steps,

1.look in your components folder for waveshell au, if there are two or more you have to delete old ones.
2.Go to plugin manager and check if waves plugins have been successfully validated, if not do it manually.

I've downloaded it from the sister site. No change.

This problem occured with fresh OS install. I have no previous waves installations. There are only four waveshell components:
    WaveShell1-AU 13.0.component
    WaveShell1-AU 13.1.component
    WaveShell1-AU 13.2.component
    WaveShell2-AU 13.0.component

Some plug-ins are not validated because I use AMD Hackintosh. But it was working perfect with V12 altough I have some unvalidated plug-ins.

this means that you didn't perform a clean installation . i only have a single WaveShell1-AU 13.0.component and have no issues. try removing them to a different location first.

If I move them to desktop Logic opens without problem. If I put ANY of those four components back to its original location Logic freezes upon opening. If I wait a couple of minutes after two times of waves headtracker setup window, Logic opens and works with no problem at all.

And I am pretty sure I have clean installed Waves.

But if it's a clean installation there must be only one waveshell component. Remaining waveshell components can be leftovers from your previous os.

Try reinstalling waves after removing all waveshells.

I've just removed the old installation as you mentioned in another thread

Make sure you follow instructions properly,

first clean up previous installation files in following locations:

Macintosh HD / Application > Waves
Macintosh HD / [Users] / Shared > Waves

then Go to ~/Library/ (using finder go to option)

    preferences > Waves preferences
    Logs > Waves Audio
    Caches > Waves
    Caches > Waves Audio
    Application support > Waves Audio

then Go to /Library/ (this is unhidden path not exactly the same)

    Application support > Waves

    after cleaning all above folders,

    1.install waves central.
2.select offline installation and browse for downloaded content.
3.select products you need to install and install.
4.after installation is complete replace "WavesLicenseEngine.bundle" in /Library/Application Support/Waves/Modules/ (this is not a package just replace the exact file)
5.run R2R keygen on a windows computer or VM.
6.type your device id (you can find it on waves central licenses tab) and generate license.
    7.copy license file to /Library/Application Support/Waves/Licenses/
8.Restart computer and open your DAW.

if you did these things correctly it should work perfectly.

Launched the "Waves AU Reg Utility 13.app" from the /Applications/Waves/Waveshells V13 folder. It found nothing. And when checked my components folder BEFORE I RAN the AU Reg Utility, there were four waveshells again.

The only option to try is re-installing the whole OS, I guess. Right?

But before that, I use an app called EasyFind. It searches the MFT. I am deleting every file related to Waves even in the /private/var folders. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you for your efforts BigM

By the way, does it make a difference if I would install online or offline. I've created a Waves account and use online installer option.

I am pretty sure I just install V13 only. Actually, mercury, ssl4000 and abbey road collections.

are you using a legit version or a k'd version? don't register or perform an online installation if you use a k'd release.

you mentioned v.r release on your first comment. for a fully working release i recommend you to use ret's release and install all the plugins at once by selecting them.(don't perform multiple installations for multiple bundles)

When I was using V12, I always download waves central from its original site and use online installation. By that method I have encountered no problems at all.

This issue emerged after I clean installed big sur and logic pro 10.7 instead of Catalina and logic pro 10.6. Curious...

At first I've tried the V.R. patch with no luck then I removed that waves installation and tried RET's keygen, both with online installation. I've always installed only mercury, ssl collection and abbey road collection. Nothing else.

Installed mercury, ssl and abbey road. Checked the components folder. Again four waveshells.

I ran the AU Reg Utility from the /Applications/Waves folder. It found total 0 plug-ins. WTF?

Now I'll clean this waves installation and try with the waves central.app and offline installer contained within the RET's release.

After a full cleaning I installed with Central and offline installer package from the RET's release. I was not connected to internet until I open Logic. Still no change. But this time there were three Waveshells, not four.

I'll re-install from scratch the whole OS next week.

    Solved it finally.

I am using an AMD Hackintosh. Some Waves plug-ins use Intel specific instructions so they do not work on AMD based hackintoshes. I have used waves central downloaded from waves site and choose online installation but not mercury bundle.

First I have made a list of not-working plugins from the plugin manager of Logic. Then I de-select them from the installation list. Now I have only two waveshells and logic opens instantly.

This is the list of incompatible plugins:

    • Abbey Road Chambers
    • Abbey Road Plates
    • Abbey Road Studio
    • AR TG Mastering
    • AR TG Mastering Live
    • CLA Bass
    • CLA Mixhub
    • CLA Mixhub Lite
    • EKramer GT
    • Electric Grand 80
    • F6-RTA
    • H-Reverb
    • H-Reverb Long
    • IMPusher
    • IR-L
    • IR1
    • IR360
    • IRLive
    • JJP Strings-Keys
    • JJP Vocals
    • Lofi Space
    • MannyM Delay
    • MannyM Reverb
    • Maserati HMX
    • Maserati VX1
    • Multimod Rack
    • OVOX
    • PRS Archon
    • PRS Dallas
    • PRS V9
    • Rchannel
    • REQ 2
    • REQ 4
    • REQ 6
    • Retro Fi
    • Saphira
    • SSL EV2 Channel
    • TRACT
    • Vocal Bender
    • Waves Tune Real-Time
    • X-FDBK
    • X-Noise
