I am absolutely thoroughly impressed that I keep finding hard drive space for all these Falcon libraries.

a powerful enough cpu to run enough instances of dsp56300 to replace Falcon would dim lights. for me. :guru:

I did notice there are some synths which are not emulated, some are strictly sample libraries.

30 giga for a sine wave? thanks but I don't need reverb on that. I'm just getting the small packs. very usable stuff.
I bet the R2R can make a good pizza. Tweak it with a few anchovies and red hot peppers!

I dont agree. Recorded stuff is a snapshot of the machine. You have the wave but even if you can add filters, env, lfos, modulations, all of them doesnt come close to the original machine.
I'd rather use the closest emulation of the original machines instead of a gigantic pack of millions samples of them.
I'd rather use The Legend over Ultramini, Tal J-8 over Saturn-8, etc...

A five minute conversation with Gospel Musician's Talkbox Jr convinced me that Falcon is well worth it.

While you are certainly correct, those UVI libraries still tend to be huge & over-priced for the most part.

There is the one fact that one cannot save/create monolithic .ufs files without paying an ongoing license fee to UVI. Wow!

Quite normal policy for download products in my opinion.
Unless the product is activated via iLok they most likely will refund.
IDK how hard it is to revoke a license from iLok manually but in some cases this process may be more expensive than the loss from selling the license.

Of course, a better way would be to let the customer have a right to give the license back within 7 days.
But this is only done by those who are very convinced of their own products.

They don't have demo/trial. You are buying a cat in the bag, and can't refund it.

I don't like this policy either. And I think they lost a lot of customers because of it.

But seriously. The problems are gone with R2R's release of App+Libs.

The question of refund is a legal one that depends on the customers location. In some legislations (e.g. EU) the vendor must refund software, if it was sealed and the seal was not broken. The download would normally preclude a refund. However, since the activation requirement is equivalent to a seal and the breakage only occurs with activation, they (UVI) must refund non-activated Apps and libs within 14 days (§312b BGB ff. for Germany).

    mocking one other.

i've never heard anything remotely close to uvi libraries. i know they don't sound so pixel-perfect as diva/hive/softube/nexus . their pianos sound more real than pianoteq . if you people don't feel it, leave it. simple. move on. don't complain. just move on . take care good people !

How is stating your factual experience with UVI and others products complaining?
BTW...I personally don't use Arturia & kontakt libraries similar & unique differences related to each product. My main gripe with Arturia, as an example, is the thousands of files needed for just one library. Monolithic files for images & samples would be more than welcome with users of solid state storage. Toontrack for one figured this out in a way that works very well. Also one of the good aspects of UVI libraries although, being able to save user libraries this way without paying a developer license fee would be great.

Remember that the initial question posed was - Not impressed by Falcon, am I the only one ?

The OP also went on to say:
Is Falcon useful? As already stated, yes. I personally don't find it as impressive as the hype that surrounds it.

OMG incredible, why did I wait so long to install OBSESSION only this week? INCREDIBLE SOUND OMG

    EASY TO USE

    CPU FRIENDLY

BEATS THE CRAP OUT OF COMPETITION EVEN GFORCE ONE (so unpractical btw and too complicated) THIS OBSESSION IS THIS THE BEST SYNTH VST EVER OMG GAME CHANGER

I'm speechless it sounds like the real one so many smart modulations and fine detailed warm sound

Diva and even Repro to some extent don't even sound as 'real' as the Obsession sound, it's out of this world.

I'm gonna check out the rest of Synapse plugins (I heard great things about 'The Legend' too as sort of emulating the Minimoog).
