IRCAM Solo Instruments is pretty useful if you are into extended techniques or contemporary classical music

Ravenscroft , Vtines , Acousticsamples B5 V3 these 3 plus the Bohemians Cello and Violin are the best in their categories.
World Suite 2 is pretty impressive too

I usually find a sound that I like by browsing "randomly" until something inspires me, That's why I keep absolutely everything...
I wouldnt be able to make a choice between all these banks as it would take too much time knowning them well.
I just add sounds to "favourites" when I find a good one.
So, to me, there is no 'rule" for finding a nice sound... it can come from any preset, any instrument, any library.

Of course I have my go-tos, only a few Kontakt libraries and a few VSTi for the moment, I don't know yet if Falcon will end up in this short list in the end...

One thing I know is that I absolutely love the synth brass preset called "Majestic Soft" from the factory lib (the one used in the official UVI demo actually)

See this is what I requested, guys LIST your favorites and why its good.

I think its an inherent given that an argument will spark even asking for favorite libraries. Actually, if I started a discussion board saying I'm giving out free money to everyone here nothing required, an argument would spark somewhere down the thread.

I suppose It's human nature to argue. Neanderthals probably argued over whether OOGA or BOOGA had the better cave, and killed each other over it xD

The pianos had been requested for a long time. The Ravenscroft has a good rep among pianists, although I personally never liked its tone. Always sounded artificial to me and has been a pain to set up right with the different settings for touch response and loudness etc.. Weird system that they use. The True Keys are good, feel nice when playing but the sound doesn't hold a candle to the better pianos out there. If you like piano check out the Acousticsamples C7 grand. That one also has a good rep although I found it just as tedious to configure as the Ravenscroft and never used it much.

More than anything it felt great to finally see these pianos on the sister site. Makes me hope for a time when something old and revered like Synthogy Ivory II might possibly follow along after all, after more than a decade.

Make sure you don't have the older UVI Complete Toy Museum folder in your Falcon presets.

    1.String Machines 2
    2.Drum Designer
.......for me the best in their category

  10. I think a lot of this Falcon stuff is much better than many are giving it credit for. Sure, a lot of these library releases are junk, and I really don't need a zillion emulations of 30 and 40 year old synths, we probably all have enough of those. But several are quite good, for me they load much more quickly than Kontakt stuff, and having them all in one app is great for workflow and saves me time. Standouts so far are World, FM, TGX 85/99, Emulation II Plus, Ether (this one surprised me!!), Bohemian Violin, Ravenscroft.... still many I've not checked out. Drum Designer was so far a disappointment -- but only spent a short time on it, maybe I need to give that one more of a chance. Also, the Acoustic Samples stuff, for me at least, was a waste of time.

Agreed. Those ones are exactly the ones I liked a lot after trying them out too.

I am pretty sure you haven't played C.Bechstein Digital Grand or Soniccouture's The Hammersmith in Kontakt?
    Not so, yet.
Not amongst myself and my peers, no.

Okay, so if most are saying the Ravenscroft is the best piano in Falcon, this is a disappointment to me already.
Obviously, one would need to have a need for a Steinway D or a Bechstein in the first place.
    Or a Ravenscroft.
But regardless of tone and character, imo a piano has to be sampled at least to the level The Hammersmith was...

ARE there actually any trained or gigging musicians here that play piano?
Can we all hear from them, if possible?
Maybe they are too busy gigging to have time to come here and chat.

    Nothing.
I want others to prove something about a good, responsive piano in Falcon that is equal in playability, for a session musician of 30 years, to what he has in Kontakt.
I thought that was obvious? Sorry, if not.
Maybe I should write in caps! jk

Mate, that's hardware in the video! haha!
    Fail?
    Where da Falcon, bruh?
And what are you trying to prove now? Nothing yet.
IF you imply something to do with playability, it is lost on me.
But only myself and that player know the real truth! :winker:
He and I are of the same calibre.
The sound of the unit there? Whatever...

Whoosh FX and Meteor. Maybe Kinetics and Plurality too, I like these kinds of sounds even if I don't use them very often. Probably Drone too, whenever it's out publicly.
I also got Drum Designer and Inner Dimensions, just in case.

    I wish! :dunno:
@nyaa13 I don't understand why you are re-quoting me with the video I already saw?
    Some sort of trolling?
Don't quote me, if so! Thanks.

Not only he's good at piano,
but he's capable of making those AKG look Normal on his head.. that's how big the man is

I personally still prefer Piano in Blue or Noire,
but Ravenscroft is good enough for a third/fourth place..

Sounds better to me than Hammersmith, or at least it seems easier to dial-in..

I think what he was trying to point out is that the guy is playing the Ravenscroft275 Virtual piano... the Kawai VPC1 is a midi keyboard being used to play this: https://www.vilabsaudio.com/Ravenscroft-By-VI-Labs
