One thing first, I'm not interested in subject impressions like GUI, usability, featureset, etc, etc.
I'm looking for the pitch shifter with the lowest amount of artifacts in terms of transient response, phase neutrality and distortion.
Or in other words, I'm looking for the pitch shifter that gives the best null test results after a -1 octave shift and a +1 octave shift in series.

Online processing is preferred, but not mandatory. Offline processing is acceptable if it delivers outstanding results.
Price tag is not so important.

Anyone have an idea? Any advice?

ReaTune included in Reaper does good enough for me, on top of that there are more than a few shifting/stretching algorithms in Reaper itself

ReaPitch doesn't do it for me in this case. Not on the project I'm working on right now. Here I need really absurd shifts with minimal artifacts.

I have PitchMonster, little alter boy, vocal bender. I liked Elastique more than others. Also at + -1 octave, with the right tuning, the Dehumaniser worked well, but I tested it with vocals.

Zplane (ElastiquePitch) has a deserved reputation (and patents) with pitch-shifting and time-stretching. Doesn't mean is always the best choice but can't go bad

Just tried a bit with my stuff
SoundShifter Pitch Stereo (Waves) adds a lot time-delay so nothing for real-time , but the sound is really decent without a lot of fragments

Yeah, sure. ReaPitch my go-to pitch shifter, but it's beyond its capabilities.

First test with Zplane ElastiquePitch 2. Not really what I'm looking for.
And before the objections are raised: Yes, I also tried to omit the formant shift and did some fine tuning on voicing and level.
Results are not getting any better.

Not really a fan of Waves, but I'll give it a try.
By real-time I meant online processing, not zero latency.
Offline processing would also be acceptable if the results justify it.

I use Polyverse - Manipulator a lot but I can't speak for null tests or anything, I just like it.

Zynaptiq - Wormhole also has a really good pitch shifter but again, it's personal preference.

I demoed Flux Audio - Ircam Trax and it was awesome, didn't end up using it though, way too many controls -what I like with the aforementioned plugins is that I can get results really fast. But Trax goes waaaaay deeper, definitely worth a try.

I remember my own pitch shifters shootout and there was not a single one that always gave me the best results on different material, it really depended.
From memory I would say Melodyne and Serato (both Studio and Sample).
Studio is free to try btw.
