    KALIMBA:
Brilliantly (because they often sound rubbish) recorded by Stanley Gabriel at our new purpose built silent studios in King’s Cross London. This is a professional contemporary Kalimba that (with the exception of one tine) has the rare quality (for the Kalimba) of being in tune! This was recorded damped and resonating, to get the latter articulation set simply hold down the sustain pedal.

    MINI PAN:
A small toy steel pan recorded and played with a selection of beaters by Sebastian Truman and Cicely Balston at our new purpose built silent studios in King’s Cross London. It doesn’t have the instantly identifiable sound of it’s larger cousin so can be used in a multitude of styles. Sounds great with delays and a big verb playing quick little phrases to punctuate and edge up prettier sound-scapes. Good poking out of our new Kitchenware range for
    example.

    BELL TREE:
Recorded by Sebastian Truman and Cicely Balston at our new purpose built silent studios in King’s Cross London. This bell tree was recorded primarily to replace Christian’s reliance on a recording of one gifted him by his brother of unknown origin (the sample, not the brother). Unlike the illicit sample CH has used for over a decade, this is a beautifully recorded instrument with two microphone perspectives (so you can produce a surround image) and a number of different articulations. These are spread across the keyboard and provide sweeps up and down of differing lengths plus a series of shimmers and tinkles. See you in another ten years for our 7.1 version!

    CRUMHORN:
PLEASE DON’T ASK FOR A REFUND!! This seemed like such a good idea at the time. Half a day in the hall at Air Studios, an array of expensive microphones and technicians. Paul Thomson handed over to Christian Henson to tackle recording this and left the studio. And then…. nameless, but the best player in the country… played…. and then… came the noise. Within two notes Christian turned to Jake Jackson (Spitfire’s chief engineer) and said “this is going to be a complete fucking waste of time, but this guy’s come a hundred miles to record this, mute the desk and I’ll get the beers in”. And there we were, watching a red faced man blow into total silence what will surely be known as the best recorded worst sample library in the world.

NB: Available in exchange for a minimum £2 donation PER MODULE to UNICEF!!!!

Cheap libs where the money goes to people in need!

How can you not donate? I'd pay them just for the blurbs.

Its a good thing to do to support UNICEF. The Felt Piano from last year is still the pick of the litter IMHO. SO much so that they are selling a fuller version of it. But some people still prefer the cheapie's sound.

I always get these, one or two are real gems as well (such as aforementioned Felt Piano - also liked the Dulcimer from memory too). Embertone did something similar with Infinity Bells. Personally, I'm all for these charitable Kontakt kits - like to see more of it and have nothing but respect for these developers! :mates:
