Big kudos to Gerhard Behles for putting ethics over 'Mammon'. Why the hell does Jared Kushner's brother need to ruin our music making with subscriptions and spyware? Good on Gerhard for turning down the 'usual suspects' that always seem to buy out every business. It's always about control w/ these people, and the consumer loses.

On that note, I decide to legally buy Ableton Standard today at 25% off.

Kudos to Gerhard, he's got balls.
It'd be nice if other company leaders (NI, Elektron, Reason, Camel Audio) were as resistant to $$$ as Gerhard.

mad respect for keeping themselves relatively independent and free from outside investors.

I"m going to send Ableton an email today praising his decision, and maybe they can forward it to Gerhard. Every voice counts and maybe some kind of critical mass can get reached w/ users refusing to buy from software companies pushing subscription only models and being owned by the 'usual suspects'.
