I moved the steam folder to another harddrive deleted the zmap.index of both omnisphere and keyscape and they worked fine , trilian just wont rereate the index and gives errors when I try to load any preset , I gave the steam folder full control so I dont know what I am missing here ?

is there possible to have Trilian installed alone without Omnisphere, I uninstalled previous version because too much problem for the 2nd time and really want the Trialian alone now. I don't mind Omnisphere though but not sure it can be installed without Omnisphere.

hmm, so I need to reinstall everything back. Can you tell me the best version (and release) of Omnisphere at the sis site (or russian tracker) that is best to install first before updating to the new 2.8.1. and then installing Trilian. PM me or something because it is kinda off topic. Forgot already which 1st because to many update posts.

the russian tracker has everything , download any version and apply the last r4e spectrasonics update in sister site

 

in my case i kinda gave up on both Trillian and keyscape cause no matter what way i set it up and do trial and error alone 75 times i always have a damn problem

 

I would just reinstall the library over it. So that he adds the missing file.

Moving STEAM

1. Copy your STEAM folder from its current location to the hard drive location of your choice. (This can be another drive partition, a secondary internal drive or an external hard drive such as an SSD, Thunderbolt, or USB hard drive, etc.).
2. Once the copy is complete, confirm that both STEAM folders (original and copy) are the same size, then delete the original STEAM folder from the default location.
3. Open Omnisphere and you will be prompted to locate the STEAM folder.
4. Browse and select the new STEAM folder (you might see some error messages, but close these messages and continue to the final step). The link to the new location has now been created.
5. Close and re-open Omnisphere for the changes to take effect.

 

the old zmap.index points to the old location and gives the same error , you cant just move the steam folder you need to update the index which should be done automatically but it didnt in my case

 

You can also keep zmap.index unchanged and create a symlink from the old to the new STEAM folder. The old STEAM folder will now be a symbolic link pointing at whatever new location you've moved STEAM to.

This works for any sample library that you may have on an external SSD drive for use on different machines. It's also more flexible because moving the libraries will always only be a matter of creating a new symlink file.

 

I'm having the same issue, I moved the STEAM folder, I removed the zmap.index file and now Trilian doesn't create a new one

 

open zmap.index with notepad select the old location go to edit =>replace and put your new location in "replace with" and press replace all

 

That's a good idea! Although I can't find the DVDs and I'm short on time, if nothing works, I'll try that!

Sorry, but what does the "old location" look like? Is it the one right after "PATH ="?

Well, I just fixed it by downloading only the "zmap.index" files from a 10-year-old version of Trilian that I found in the "russian tracker" and placed them inside "Trilian Library", "Trilogy Library" and "XTRAS - Bass Legends "
