I can't afford rebranded grilled mozzerella that's passed off as fat mortadella.
I'm good with my Chorizo's papi salapi.

Obvious hyperbole is exaggerated. But if you automatically assume producers are worthy of "respect" and "appreciation" just because they are.. producers? I don't know how that was lost on you, @aymat. Or the (similar) bullying. At least in good faith?

This thread just reminded me that I have to sell (if it is possible) my Nebula license and all the libraries I bought years ago. If anyone is interested let me know. Nebula was an interesting concept, years ago, but cpu consumption/latency, audio artifacts (at the time, maybe they've been solved?), rude and arrogant (misleading at times) attitude of AA developer and constant improvement of algorithmic analog emulation made me forget about it.

Many people around here who plan or at least want to have some sort of success (or not) are buying their stuff too. Not everything is just people looking to steal your stuff. Many legit users will run a legit pc and another pc alongside without all the drm that holds you back. Some people will have their pc offline entirely so they can have a focused workstation while gradually buying everything they demo on the side.

Some people flat out just don't have the money right now but that shouldn't stop them from making progress and becoming legit which will bring you more business in the end. Stopping someones talent from moving forwards because they don't have money would only be bad for your business in the end because they will never demo your stuff to see if it fit them or their system because they never got a chance to try it in the first place.

I know people that don't even make a living from music, but we are all gradually becoming legit anyways and if we didn't have full demos then your timed demos would be pointless to us anyways. Nobody determines anything by 30 second white noise incriments until they have ample time to run it at different loads and stages of their project or determines if that plugin can stand the test of time with them.

Not everyone is this bad guy you think they are because they like to full demo things before they buy it. I can't speak for anyone else but I'm poor as all fuck. Even then, I'm still editing my "to buy" list all the time because I gradually buy those things when I have no real return from music.

Punishing your own clientele that is finally paying off your plugins isn't going to be good for you because they actually like your product enough to open their wallets while everything else around them crumbles. Think about that. You yourself will be responsible for people not wanting to pay for them at all. I can't run them worth a fuck either way so I will never demo them again cause latency is it's best trick.

Ok, thanks for the experience share. You probably have more experience than me using AA plugs. I'm really not a fan of them either. But yeah maybe because of the convolution stuff they appeared to give more "precision, definition" in eqing, compared to the market at a certain time, and adding some really pleasing harmonics.

But it felt short quite fast to my taste, because it felt so static. And nowadays circuit modeling have proven to bring way less caricatural and breathy stuff, and modern FIR eq technology surpasses any of those "transient/depth" problems Acustica was proven for not having (eq-wise, for dynamic processors, ... it's a horse of a different color... lol)

Moreover AA plugins being "dynamic snapshots" can't simply be pushed hard and breaks miserably, as you said.

But it's up to everyone's taste, style and technique, I bet a lot AA plugins found their way to brilliant mixes, working records, even charting ones, among freeware, and Waves and the like :winker:

If anything your plugins feel like they are probably very capable if I could actually run them on my computer. If someone is out there that can run them on theirs then the probability of them paying it off is much higher than someone that can't.

When the product is readily available without drm then you can see if you can really run it or not. If there was no full demo available when you probably didn't bother with 30 seconds worth of white noise telling you to shh cause you didn't shhhell out about tree fiddy to realize it works as shitty as the demo's latency did but all you got was this lame ass receipt.

I remember when this forum was one of AA's most ardent supporters, and people would talk about waiting for sales to 'complete the collection'. It's very entertaining to see how this nebula debacle has reversed that stance completely.

I believe that all the developers who mix the public life of the company with warez make a serious mistake. You can certainly work privately against piracy, but exposing yourself in a personal way here and on the sister site is a very big risk. I believe that Giancarlo is a person who has always downloaded pirated material in his life, then he decided to open a company and now he claims that piracy is right if it affects the whole world of audio, recognizing the big skill of R2R, as long as does not affect his company Acustica. All those who act in this way have a bad end in this business, and considering the incredible hatred that his person is generating here.

Honestly, one of the most bizarre self-pwns "don't pirate the software you've bought from us or we'll make you regret it!" I've seen. And I get emails from Steinbug!

Did he play way too many of the Vice City? Oh well I can't run definite edition anyways.

I would rather have this thread than a Cymatics email though. YOOOOO HAVE YOU HEARD?! IT ME STEVEN AGAIN IN MY NEW BUGATTI, WE ASMR THE WHOLE NATION WITH MY FIELD RECORDER INTO THIS BRAND NEW SAMPLE PACK MY FRIEND.

At least this has some honesty to it and Giancarlo isn't flexing this panini in his brand new lamborghini every 3 new emails because he already told us to get fucked. I'd rather them come talk to us and remember what it was like to be down on your luck but still hopeful and willing to work your way up.

But not AA tho.. only DMG, Fabfilter or Brainworx,
I can tell between cheese and yogurt, not exactly the same.. :guru:

*Oh, and also on of those American rubber Chickens that go.. CoCoooo!
They're flexible, and can save the day in many situations..

I don't use the paid versions, never have installed the feminized (sister site) versions and won't be salivating nor downloading them if and when The Japanese Santa Claus Consortium passes onto their adoring fans their cracking good work in order to spread the good news. What I would like to know however is the ethics of rumaging around someone's computer to point a crooked finger and wag it as a bad teacher might do so in a very bad movie towards his students and then to rap them on the knuckles with his wooden ruler, letting them bleed red blood until at some time in the future he and his nurses might dress the wound that they themselves punitively inflicted. Wassup with that?

I have 0 interest in AA plugins, but because of this statement i would like to see them cracked... The whole collection, just because... It is funny what developers are doing lately, and all that fuss because of R2R 10K release and BF.... Man, R2R have achieved something that no group have done ever to all developers simultaneously...

No one even knows if R2R even cracked AA.
Yet we have the developer here panicking and forum users already making plans of how they will not download AA plugins, smh.

P.S. I only stopped by this thread because I thought that it was concerning SKnote plugins and the owner Quinto Sardo from whom I have bought six virtual processors these last bunch of years, but I learned a lot from my peruse and schmooz anyway. Thanks, Lemmy.
