So recent events got me thinking. How many of us are actually using such stuff?
I generally prefer to stay away from them, prefering pure synthesis and algorithmic things, but I do have my Addictive Drums (freewared version of course) and other smaller sample instruments here and there.
Anyways, how many multi-gigabyte libraries do you have? Omnisphere, convolution reverbs, Acustica plugins, orchestral Kontakt - everything counts, as long as it's BIG.
    Which do you use?

I use sampled libraries for acoustic strings, drums, choirs, pianos, brass, woodwinds, church organs.

I tried MODO Bass but didn't like it that much, EZBass it is for me.
SWAM is supposed to be very good for modelled brass, but I have no use for more brass at this point.
Aeolus is a pretty good synth church organ, I sometimes use it as a layer underneath a sampled organ.
If you lay on tons of effects, you can even get a reasonably convincing choir out of many speech synthesis plugin :)

Bells, electric pianos and e-organs I'm perfectly happy with synths.

    To each their own.

What kind of music do you produce? Or should I say compose?

Used to use them years ago, bt got frustrated by the lack of flexibility with some of them. I much prefer to be able to strip a sound source back to it's basic level and not have it be based on a sample with modulation, effects and stereo processing etc already on it...which a lot are.

Some I know are better than others, bt I tend to not bother any more.

I guess R2R about to drop Eastwest stuff...big achievement for them, bt not something I'll use.

Recently I cleaned my library arsenal and picked the best libraries along one week to fit my style of tracks

Orchestral: Spitfire SS, MSB, Forzo and Vento, solo strings emotional violin viola and cello, viola da gamba from cinesamples
Choirs: epic: strezov storm choir ulti, Lyrical: FA: Dominus, Ethnic: Rodhope 2, boys: Audiobro genesis
Pianos: NI noire, una corda and colors.
Drums: spitfire HZ los angeles for raw epic drumkits (Thomas Pridgen drums for standard) and damage 2, ferrum and true strike 1 v2 for orch/cinematic/world perc.
    Guitars: Ots
    Ethnic stuff: Ni discovery series
Generators, auras, loops: elyson 2, slate and ash cycles and landforms, NI Arhis and Sequis.
    Main synth: Zebra 2
    I use sample packs/romplers for solo vocals/phrases.

I tested and deleted tons of GBs. From now I'm doing that way coz I know they always will be available in AZ :bow:

Game changing. Hope R2R bring the good news, from my side I just want to test deeply ewql stuff, I will delete them if "repetitive" material, I'm fine with my current libs.

And what about reverbs like Seventh Heaven? Are they really that better than algorithmic reverbs?
I think I haven't used a convolver once in my production life.
