it could be that the RIFF header is similar to normal wave or aiff files, but the sample values are scrambled. if you hear white noise, that most likely means that the sample values are simply scrambled (but still identified as sample values)

"CLBAS" most likely stands for "convolution xt basic" and is the key to the scrambling order/seed.

since it is a very well done plug-in, i would not bother using the free content in other plug-ins.
