    Hi there,I'm curious about the information included in the .nicnt file,so 4 questions:

    1)What's the difference between these serial numbers: "UPID","SNPID","HU" and "JDX"(And how do they enforce copy-protection)?

    2)What does the visibility number for a library mean?

    3)What is the RAS2 authentication system and how does it differ from the newer RAS3 that some libs do use?

    4)What information is being encrypted(or encoded) after the long streams of zero paddings in the file?

    Thanks in advance

    All very interesting questions, which I too will await for the answers!
    But regards copy protection, it only works with an uncured Kontakt.
    Obviously once you have a cracked Kontakt, it's irrelevant!
    Doesn't seem like any strong protection imo.
    Considering it's Kontakt that has to be cracked.
    I remember when peeps had to get the serial for libs to run in R2Rs Kontakt! haha.

    But your questions are extremely relevant right now as many are having trouble with the latest Kontakt, so it seems.

    Check this out re. changing .nicnt from RAS2 to RAS3:

    If I knew and could explain all of this, I would be sitting at the desk at Native Instruments.

    UPID - Native Instruments -> https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/attachments/product-upids-product-upids-pdf.95245/

    Kontakt Snpid List -> https://de.scribd.com/document/487306438/Kontakt-Snpid-List

    NICNT -> is the KONTAKT library from Native Instruments.

    RAS 0, 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 -> RAS is NI's homebrew authorization scheme that had a number of iterations through the years.

    Native Access Error Message: "Activation failed...Internal error during activation"

    SNPID is the classic but half obsolete old identifier of Kontakt libs (perhaps also other NI products). Guess: Serial Number Product ID
    UPID is the new identifier. Guess: Universal Product ID
    HU/JDX: these are also new and probably related to some encryption (RAS3?). Guess: no fucking idea lol
    I'm not sure about this but you can hide a library in Kontakt. Very few people does it but there's a button for that. The "3" value puzzles me though. Not sure if they're related
    Kinda like @BEAT16 said, some kind of authentication/encrypction/whatever.
    It's just binary data. It usually contains the library Wallpaper, sometimes a little database of the instruments.
