I always though Hypersonic 2, preferred it in many ways over Halionsonic but became unstable with later DAWs without bridging. Another one that I think is good is ElectraX.

    Rompler's

    Halion 7/sonic -
Great for real instruments. You will not be impressed with anything for electronic music by Steinberg. I've owned Cubase since the early 2000's. there vocal is primarily live recordings and orchestral productions. I use Halion a lot for traditional music instruments.

Korg M1/Triton/Triton Extreme.... - Great Rompler. GUI may take a while for you to figure out where to find things.. But like Halion you can multilayer patches to create new sounds (Multis). Many sounds are drenched in reverb and delays... if you turn off most of the effects then the patches will be useful.

Roland Zenology - Very impressive Rompler. It has stoke General midi instruments and Roland specific synth patches. There is editing capability for the most part of your needs. I expected a lot worse of this product.. like the Korg Bundles.... But there are a lot of patches and expansions making this product another one-stop-shop for music production. Personally I do not like the subscription model, but the sound are vey good.

UVI Falcon - I own about 80% of the Falcon products for sale. The products are well built and usable. just remember like Nexus the expansions can become expensive. These are completely samples library's, so you will need a lot of storage space to access the patches. With Falcon you can edit the patches to some degree, more so then with the free UVI workstation. UVI will allow you to make multi-patches that you can save for later use. You can easily get lost in sound design with this product. I recommend this product if you can afford expansions.

Kontakt 7 - I own Komplete 14 Ultimate Collators edition. I love Kontakt. But there is a lot bloat with there products. I find that many library's they have a rarely every use. The "Play Series" of products are pretty much garbage. The Scarbee instruments sound really good. I would buy Kontakt 7 and use the stock factory library and individually purchase expansions or library's on a need to buy basis. Kontakt Library's are expensive so buy with caution.

Heatup 3 - is pretty decent for a Hip-hop/trap focused Rompler. It's got some great sounds and the prices aren't to bad. The library's will work well for electronic music. It falls sort with real instrument sounds. There is a lot of great content in this product. The GUI could use some work, but It is value for the money

SampleTank 4 Max - Good luck with this product. It might take you a couple of days to download and install the required library's that come with it. Some sounds are great, many sounds are not. I recently deleted the library's because I could not justify the storage space need for all the library's.
