there are multiple flaws with that logic, but it will fall in deaf ears. So lets leave it at that.

These "smart" type of new equalizers are all quite CPU hungry + latency introducing. One instance of Sonible Entropy+ EQ (similar in functionality) eats one third of my older i5 CPU in Ableton.

There's nothing ground breaking as advertised for this EQ, if you have it in your arsenal, the Tonal/Transient split approach was done before by Eventide in their Physion/Fission plugin in 2017, this apparently is just making it a 6bands EQ (8 if you consider the HPF/LPF) and let's be real who is going to add 8 point of transient boosting/cutting ? Physion on the other hand got tons of other processors/fx and guess what a 3 bands EQ for the Tonal section. The pitch shifter is fire! watch video:

Wavesfactory Quantum let you add FX to the transient which is way cooler IMO. Kilohearts Multipass, multiband everything, and you can even add a proper Transient Shaper on each band with additional sustain and pump control plus stereo shaping or other 20 FX you like. Thank god for the sister site R2R release, more and more people will not buy into this marketing stun. Love other Eventide and Newfangled plugins, I actually excited to try this one, but will stick with traditional old and outdated zero-latency ProQ3 for now and other option for transient manipulation.

Physion is one of my all-time favorite plugins. It has so many uses for correction but you can get so creative with it. I ran 2 of them on my bass channel and got interesting creative results but also ran into issues doing this too.

That's what this forum is all about! Sometimes I will browse rig photos or studio setups just to get my motivation up before I play if I feel like I'm stuffing face when Thanksgiving meal time is epically over.

Other times you browse threads and bump into some cool thing that makes you think of some other unrelated connection you never made before just because accidentally logged in. I do that a lot in between sessions.

Run a heavy wavetable bass sequence through 2 Physions, something with texture and aggressive transients then set each instance in the chain to work to opposite ends of each other. It was hit and miss for me because the audio sometimes canceled out in a phase cancellation sort of way but the times that it didn't, it sounded really damn good.

That's what I did but it bet it sounds good with anything sound source, especially if you split frequencies and possibly create more transients which will add more groove if you split before going into Physion.

I tested it on a group in Maschine and thought, "well, this has a lot of potential". Then I put it on a snare and all of a sudden the snare was about a 16th late and I was like "wow, that's a lot of latency. too bad maschine still has no delay compensation".

I might test it a little longer in Logic, but for Maschine users it's pretty much unusable on everything but the master.

I had the opportunity to try it thanks to the sister site and wasn't impressed tbh. I think Wavesfactory Quantum obliterates this one in transient/sustain manipulation tho the EQ display is tiny in comparison to SplitEQ, I think that's the only downside.

Sorry, that is not a transient EQ, it's false advertising. I've just recently matched Electra with DMG Audio EQuick. Not the slightest difference in terms of transients. They cancel each other out by at least 40dB (I didn't match 0.0x for dB and Q) and this is indistinguishable.

Which seems like a meaningless test to me when you want to check transient behaviour. Please correct me.

What are you referring to exactly? I matched them in PluginDoctor, made a blind comparison on several audio files and a nil test in which no difference in transient behaviour could be measured or heard. And a nil test is great for revealing differences in transients because if the EQ curves are matched, that's the only thing that remains - if there is a difference.

Not at all. The only reason it is unreliable is because you, me or anyone could add to it.
Imagine if someone searched Wikipedia for Abraham Lincoln, theoretically, someone could add "One of Abraham Lincoln's most famous sayings was 'never trust what you read on the Internet'.
That would stay there until someone went WTF??? and deleted it. That is why. It is not factual unless it matches documents that are.

Wow. First time I see a digital EQ where not just bells but also shelves are cramped. How did they achieve that?
