Hello, I've been using an OEM key since 2018 and today I just built my new PC, the problem is that I want to activate it but I dont want to download some suspicious programs, I guess some of you guys should know some secure ways to do that "alternative activation", also thanks to the members who helped me on chosing my pc parts <3

If you already have/had a computer with an OEM Key and you have a Microsoft account, simply choose "I have no product key" during installation. Then connect to your Microsoft account (its enough if you have a hotmail.com or outlook.live.com account) after installation is finished and your new computer will be automatically activate with a digital license key.
If you dont have a Microsoft account...simply make one with your old computer. This will connect/link the license key to your account. And then simply login to your account with your new computer and it will activate automatically. This also works with an illegal license.

 

There you go. Right now they are as low as 1.3Euros.

I literally just googled a serial key for my original not activated win and found a working one in less than 10 min, been using it for almost 2 years now.

 

I tried doing exactly this, but I dont know why it doesnt activate on this new setup :p

KMSes are pretty lottery, some are more or less trustable but there are a million of fake ones which are nothing more than Trojan installing keyloggers and crap like that.
It's very tricky to find a good one, and by far I'd better let a few $ go to get a real serial ...

Usually KMS are windows services that re-enable the 30 days grace period of Windows/Office over and over and inject OEM fake licences to the OS/Office to make it considered as "activated".
If you disable the service, both Windows/Office will be deactivated after 30 days.
Some KMS are also using non-legit licence servers to activate Windows the normal way with fake serials.
As far as they are considered by Defender as virus, KMS also deals with Defender exception by adding themself to the list, but if you have another anti-virus/spyware installed you need to manage exceptions lists by yourself too.

Some are fully automated, some are more tricky to use, but all of them doesnt tell the user what changes are made to the registry/dll/OS files/services/etc... it's why they could easily add toxic stuff to your computer as well ...

 

Been running Windows 10 Professional unactivated for almost a year and it works better than any other Windows I've ever had. Downloaded directly from Microsoft. Sure, I don't get to customize some things like wallpaper and other silly crap but I mainly only use it for making music anyways. Updates and functions like a dream.

 

Yep it works, but some programs cant run on non-activated Windows like Office or Windows Defender (you need to run another anti-virus or stay away from internet).
Non-activated Windows will runs forever, but Microsoft could consider not allowing updates for the OS at any time if they want to ... So it's a risk to take ...

 

If you go randomly downloading activators from the net, then I agree.

But there are well known activators that have worked for years, are open source, and don't contain any malware. I'd paste a link but I don't think the rules would allow that.
