Works great.
Disable (click the toolbar icon) for download redirects, to get out of YT embdded videos to open them at YT etc.
[Also stops az logo ip logging tracking or whatever it is popup.]
But a few days ago one link at az got through.
I was too busy to add to VPN blocklist or Leechblock etc.
Seems to have ceased and desisted since.

 

Adding these to the blocklist removed the recent popups for me:

I use custom filter lists for Ublock Origin

There are some useful lists which block annoying domains, ad-block detecters, etc...

 

Don't do this if you're using Tree Style Tab (TST) addon with firefox, the popups will still open, but as a blank tab that you can't close and it will crashes TST.

 

I see a much more limited group of domains when I click on uBlock Origin -- presumably because my blocklists are stopping them before I see them, though perhaps it's because I'm logged in?

 

Yeah, it's not easy to get rid of the Edge.

Anyway, install Firefox, uBlock origin, and noscript. You'll get the whole new [old] impression of web browsing.

What has sort of worked for me using Safari and Adguard is 1) locate the current offending redirect tracker in Safari Preferences/Privacy/Manage Website Data. 2) copy the address (in my case tgxykydgkgvn.xyz), then delete. 3) Open Adguard Preferences?User Rules and add @@||tgxykydgkgvn.xyz. That works until I get a new redirect tracker, then I have to do it again.

 

Sister site Adm really needs to fix this! No other sites display this issue and it is really getting bad!

 

Every time I clicked the get links link for peep link yesterday an additional tab opened and quickly closed.Also getting pop ups. Already using ad block, ublock etc… disconcerting. Greatful for sister site, but weirded out by recent behaviour. Also experienced this in dec / Jan.

 

- the url is changed on a daily basis, most of them have the TLD *.xyz, so one could try to block the whole TDL.
- in my opinion it is unneccessary to have one ad per page, even after a refresh. it was like every 20th page before.

 

Ok so just went to az and got the following:

sorry to ask, I know it triggers some people, I love AS and AZ, but is AZ safe just now? I cannot be fucked with malware. Was hoping to back up and update a few progs but think I’m gonna watch this thread and avoid till absolutely sorted. (Happening logged in and not) Cheers

ps, just thought, I often check az on my phone. It’s pretty much my homepage nd I jump to these forums from the latest topics there… I don’t get alerts or pop ups on phone but could things be going on in the background? Seen a video recently about malware on phones undetectable as no pop ups etc…

EDIT: Another thought, the scene is very much protective about the fact that there is no malicious malware in their releases. Those against the scene claim warez is just malware. I believe the teams, that they do it for the scene, competition, challenge etc and that their work is clean, but then why would they allow their work to be posted on a site that’s riddled with malware ads? If they wanted to protect their reputation, why would they let their work be associated with a site with these issues. I’m not trying to bad mouth saint etc, I respect everyone and am very thankful, but it just occurred to me it doesn’t add up… I hope it’s just shoddy advertising services, I do believe that it’s not the site admins / creators, but why does it keep happening?

I do get the nature of the beast tho. Due to the type of site the admins will have limited options for partners to work with to generate revenue to run the site. It’s just lame said partners seem to go rogue or potentially have malicious intent… I’ll update all my browser extensions etc, but it’s interesting and worrying.

I love AZ and have been a member for years, but this is quickly becoming a pain in the ass with all these popups.

 

I don't use a smart phone but I do use an iPad. I never use it to access websites though. Browsing the web is really just impossible without my array of ad-blockers and malware traps in place.

It's not just sister site, it's everywhere. The internet is so fouled up with advertising as to be unusable.

 

From my Android tablet, I have no pop-up when logged in.
Just logging at AudioZ and stay logged, you'll have no problem.

 

Looks like the sister site admin has finally stopped the popups. I just hit the site and didn't experience a one today and have changed nothing here. That is great news! Anyone confrim?
