Yeah that's great! I haven't messed around too much with that stuff for the fear of breaking something, but I'm lucky I know someone nearby who does a really good job at it. After all, you know what you need best, so it's best to do it yourself if you know how to.

I feel you! I have played my Ibanez Gio for about 8 years now and it's still rock solid. It's seen rehearsals, gigs, and it was even used for my band's debut album. I have gotten some gear since then, but it's been mostly other instruments and gear that I needed for my productions. I'm finally about to get an upgrade and it's a custom.
Anyway, the only things that need upgrading on your guitar are probably the pickups, and maybe the tuners too if you have the money. That should make it sound a lot better!

Hey man thanks for sharing your thoughts! I understand your feelings about doing it on your own, it's way more fun that way and you always learn something.

I decided to go for a multiscale build, which only left me with EMGs and Fishmans as I didn't want to mount the pickups straight. I initially thought about going with the Moderns, but someone else mentioned about the versatility of the Tosins too, and I really liked the 3rd single coil voicing on it. Hearing what you said makes me really happy about my choice, even if I ended up slightly overshooting my budget!

About what you said about the volume pot, that's really interesting! I've seen a video of theirs where they compared rolling off the volume on a passive pickup vs. on a set of Fishmans and there indeed is some difference. I guess I'll find it out when I have them!

I have a Les Paul, a Schecter Diamond Elite, and a Parker Nightfly. They all keep me happy currently speaking. That is not to say that if a few more found their way into my loving home that I would object.

My 60s Telecaster is the be all end all of guitars, yet my 90s Strat Ive had longer is like part of my hands after all these years. But I did just pick up one of the new 60s Standard Epiphone Les Pauls a couple weeks ago that is actually a pretty rad fucking guitar for the money. Felt just as good and sounds and plays just as well as the $2500 Gibson 60s Standard right next to it on the wall. And finally a neck that feels more like my tiny Fender ones, my 2002 Gibson SG got sold real quick because it was a pain in the ass to play and the neck dive on it was way too much..

My 15th guitar will be the Epiphone Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axess. I ordered one and it will be PLEK'd. Sounded like one hell of a deal for the specs. We'll see.

I think I want to buy a new (used) guitar soon, because I have a little money, and I thought maybe it's better to buy a used guitar rather than keeping the money (because inflation ect). Thanks for your suggestions!

I think I'll get a semi-acoustic like the Epiphone Sheraton, or a 'Metal Guitar' like a used Schecter or Jackson....

The Starcaster looks really lovely, too.

It's a Languedoc (by Paul Languedoc), made famous by Trey Anastasio (if you can call it famous, since only Phish fans care about it lol)

It's a beauty. I didn't recognize it but I should have. My old friend Eli designed Phish's video touring system and has shot over probably 100 of their shows

I have a Les Paul from early 90's and a Squire Vintage, one of the first models made in Japan in the 80's, with Schaler pickups and a original Fender Bridge. one Spanish/classic guitar, Alhambra. And a Acoustic guitar Guild. Plugged to my Marshall Jcm 800 (handmade in the 80's), the version of only One channel. The guitarist of my group have the Jcm 800 with two channel. Him has a Zemaitis Les Paul and a L&S Telecaster.
I, also, have a original 1963 Jazz Bass rectified by the Fender Custom Shop. One re-edition of 1962 Precision bass, made in the 90's. One Yamaha 1000 BBs (like the Paul McCartney played in the two first records of the Wings). and a Epiphone Thunderbird with EMG passive pickups and a custom made bridge. all that basses are used with a Orange Terror Bass 500w and a Ampeg 410 HLF classic cabinet (I have a Warwick with a Fender cabinet with Eminence Speakers, but i don like the sound of the warwick and don't use it).
In the middle, my bass pedal-board. One EBS preamp, in the effect loop, I have a EBS Valve Drive (not DI model), and Electro Harmonix Micro Pog (octaver), and one fuzz Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi (Russian model). the output of the preamp runs trough a DarkGlass Hyperluminal Compressor Blk, and finally a BBE Sonic Stomp.

PRS guitars, any of them. They all sound amazing even the less expensive models. Can't go wrong with them. I think I'm actually in love with the last one I bought. It's like... it has a soul of it's own. It's calling to me... must... play

One of my friends has one of those, it sounds MASSIVE.

aw guitars...i can't find the time to play them..(i am mainly a keyboard player) but i would not mind having a red 12 string danelectro, a larry carlton sire les paul or an ibanez jem junior wit a gotoh 1996t tremolo and also would change the frets for some nicer ones (stainless steel)
