Do you mean it included Dance & Trance presets? hmm.. I understand good stock presets are useful..

Massive got released the same year and it's success was many times greater.

I do not understand this statement. Does the unison sounded good? Or the filters were better? Maybe Envelopes were more snappier.

Again, I do not understand this.:snuffy: Hive 2 and Dune 3 are superior, one can easily program warm sounds even in Serum.

I do not see any advantages Predator brings. :dunno:

Yes, what separates the above listed competition from Predator 3 is that they all sound subjectively better to me (but take that with a grain of salt as I'm kinda deaf, LOL on the outside {but crying me a river on the inside}).

I always thought that was the appeal of Papen's plug-ins. They were never that great as synths, per se, but they were really vehicles for Papen's presets. Wasn't that how he got his rep? Designing presets for the Virus?

At the time, the albino was one of the best sounding virtual synthesizers ever made. The layer function is also absolutely magical. Unfortunately, LinPlug has disappeared from the market and has unfortunately not released the Albino 3 (as with the Surge).
Rob Papen was born on 8 Okotober 1964.
At the age of 15 he started with the Korg MS-20 synthesizer and a SQ-10 sequencer. On these machines he learned how to program synthesizers and they inspired him to compose music. He did study also electronic organ and b.t.w. loves Bach....
Through groups like Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and artist like J.M. Jarre, Georgio Morroder, Vangelis and Klaus Schulze he started making electronic music, also at the age of 15. Besides being a Christianity music Artist (two number one hits in European countries and several CD's) he became a well known sound designer. His taste of music is wide, very wide... in fact he simply loves good music, from Bach to Lenny Kravitz, HipHop, RnB, from Depeche Mode to James Brown. This wide taste does reflect very much in his sound products. Last years Rob started developing together with top-notch programmers an own line of virtual synthesizers and effects for PC and Mac. www.robpapen.com/rob-papen.html

It is like food, one likes this one rather than the other that. It's a matter of taste. I cannot understand you and you cannot understand me because we are different and that is also the case.

Please visit my website, I make presets for hardware and software synthesizers.

Before the advent of Predator, there were a lot of cool plugins. And if we talk about the genres you listed, then I can name at least two synthesizers that were released much earlier and had a cult status. These are Vanguard(2004) and Z3ta(2002).

Sister Site, judging by the context.

On topic, Rob Papen was big back in the days, but technology marched on since then and he didn't.

Thanks for the answer. They weren't very innovative, maybe they're too old, too little time, not enough money, who knows. to be honest, I am very disappointed with the company and its products, like you. All plugins have the name Rob Papen (sounds better to sell - he also founded the company). In the past it always said by Rob Papen / ConcreteFX. Rob runs the company, marketing, is present at the trade fairs and makes presets. The person who built this whole VSTi is "Jon Ayres" (ConcreteFX) see pictures.

I wish they would get different sound designers because the ones they always use have this cheesy, outdated sound and don't really do Predator justice. I mean, even the sounds in the EDM bank sound waaaaay cheesy and just....not current. Sounds like if your adult contemporary dad tried making EDM presets.

Got your point, it's subjective. I was talking objectively. You got great collection of presets, you should consider building a decent website with a real domain name.

I am quite a bit underwhelmed to be honest, soundwise.

I was also very underwhelmed by Predator but that new delay effect, Rob Papen DelSane is really interesting and doesn't sound like anything else out there.

Didn't bother with the vocoder because they just aren't my thing.

Thanks for the tip and the feedback. I used to have another website that was getting more and more expensive, it was called www.zeitaugen.de, then I canceled it. The website I have now is free. The hoster for the sound banks is also free. As you can see, I have massively reduced the costs and I don't make any money with the sound banks. I know it looks a bit old-fashioned, but it's all free.

There was a dispute between Linplug and RP, which ended their collaboration. But Linplug released Spectral, which has very similar ideas to Albino. I use Albino and Spectral still, both are x64 for ewindows and this should work long enough.

Yeah Linplug was closed around 2016, which was a sad thing. Because i liked their plugins a lot.
