I've seen many threads about this problem but no solution yet, so if anyone has any new suggestions please share.
Omnisphere forgets the loaded preset/multi when an ableton project is saved and reopened later.
So far I've tried:
Saving the multi before closing
Saving ableton project before/after closing the omnisphere plugin window
Re-authorizing omnisphere
And some other various suggestions from other similar posts

But it keeps happening, and I can't tell when/why. Seems almost like a timebomb, I don't know much about it.
Anyone have any suggestions? This would not happen back when I was running the 2.3.x version on my old pc. I am on a clean install of latest version on brand new pc.

That's not at all what a timebomb is, no.
Look up the phrase in relation to software protection...
And The Pirate's Omni crack was perfect!
We will just have to assume you got it from the sister site if anyone is able to help you.

I've tried that, and it still doesn't work. Although afterwards when I check the properties for the folders it still says "READ ONLY". Is there an extra step to make it permanently full permissions?

 

Oh! That was a common fix, as I remember.
Have to ask again, was your Omnisphere the release from The Pirate?
And if so, where did you obtain it?
Because if it wasn't from a place we can vouch for, there is no point in trying to help.
You may have a dodgy version from elsewhere.
Which is why we are supposed to ascertain this before attempting to help you.
But you didn't answer me yet...!

I got it from rutracker, it's a R2R release. I'm having trouble finding The Pirate's release, can you point me towards it pls

Please describe your problem precisely and provide some data about your system. which version of which team?

 

The only problem is that patches are not being recalled upon loading a project. Could be a couple hours, or it could be a day, or maybe even longer until it happens.

I'm not sure which team (am I allowed to link to rt?) Version is 2.7.0f.

I allow myself to interfere in your conversation.
I'm on iMac snow leopard update in high sierra.
The problem for me seems to have come from their change of "protection".
I stayed on version 2.6.3 because since version 2.6.4, I have noticed problems and when I went to 2.7 still the same.
So I stay at 2.6.3! Apart from the problem of not being able to save my own multis after a few minutes, I also noticed that the rhythm of the arpeggiator gets carried away and becomes irregular ...
I hope that a solution will be found one day!?.

 

What system do you work with? Which hardware? Please compare times whether your system performance is sufficient?

My configuration is good, I am in High Sierra 10.13.6
But on the sister site many have problems since version 2.6.4 which corresponds to the update of the change or strengthening of their "security".

"Notes:
Since Spectrasonics changed their Authorization method a bit,
it's not possible anymore to patch the plugins using R2R's keygen.
Therefore I applied the patches manually (also to the new Trilian Update,
where no previous RSA2048 patch was available). That took a bit of research
but wasn't very complicated in the end.

Spectrasonics now wants you to request a challenge code online
but an offline activation is still possible, just a bit hidden at the bottom of
the authorization page by clicking the small blue "click here".
This copies an encoded offline activation url to your clipboard,
which you just have to decode to get the missing Challenge Code.

For Windows users I wrote a little tool in AutoIT that reads the url from the
clipboard, decodes it and adds the working Challenge Code back to it."
