The funny thing about new products and new music is if anyone actually created something that nobody had ever thought of before that did not sound or work remotely like anything in existence, once people stopped shitting on it before it is released, once it is released, most people would not know what to do with it other than copy it.
Fast forward six months "I've heard it all before". 5% create from a vision, 95% clone, mimic and copy.

    My simpleton brain response...
    a) yesterday - the pre-sales hype phase - "Yawn; who cares"
    b) today - the demos now available to hear - "I listen, I like, I want"
    c) tomorrow(ish) - Sister says "here's the real deal" - I say "thank you"

    Life goes on. :)

There is a reason why you'd refuse to even install it. In a world where basically everyone can have any sound, the abundance of choice can become your biggest enemy. This year I built a new PC and I tried to install only what I really need, use or plan to learn. (It is hard, shit piles up fast..).
Strangely enough, Omnisphere didn't go on my drive. I simply found that I was loosing too much time cruising through the patches and tweaking it. It was the same with some other synths and ofc tens of thousands presets bundles.

It may fit your workflow, though...

using omnisphere and considering yourself an audio producer is like microwaving frozen food and claiming to be a chef

You've obviously never worked in a restaurant kitchen if you think thats true. :)

Anyway, anything that makes the noise that i think fits into a song is useful, i dont care where it comes from.

Actually on a musical level, using any sampled instruments or someone else's samples that are not created by yourself without playing any instrument into the DAW and calling yourself a musician or a producer fits that too.

what they really should do, is put it on a good sale price for the last .2 versions of v2.

maybe acquire some last minute legit users before v3. in 2024.

Omnisphere never clicked for me. There is too much page diving for my taste and it is a drain on me brain. I've threatened to cut it loose before but I always have a very difficult time selling anything for some reason, but this time it might stick as I wish to buy a nice Martin 00-28 parlor guitar to kick back all comfy and cozy on the couch in my approaching old age. I'd sell (if I could) some other things like a microphone or two, a Martin D-15M, a Klark Teknik KA-2A and my Vox AC15C.

Okay Extensions, i have a feeling Omnisphere is already wide enough ...

I will pass on it. And still hope they expand the granular synthesis engine, bcs i still think it is weak.

Ask yourself, do I really need that? (Yes / No)
How often will I use it? (Often / Rarely)
Don't I have enough already? (Yes / No)

Omnisphere is one of the best sounding synthesizers ever made. Definitely worth buying and playing.

In 2011, Persing and his team accepted the TEC Award for "Best Musical Instrument Software" for Omnisphere version 1.5

Unfortunately discoDSP Discovery Pro or stuff from Togu Audio Line like JUP 8 or Juno emulations are sounding really good and they barely take 40-100 MB disk space.
Omnisphere is huge I never tested with my new powerhouse desktop PC I tried it on my gaming laptop and it was sluggish and there are so many patches on patches on patches it just never ends and you can not pick the preset you want thats my problem with Omnisphere
But ofcourse I can not wait to get 2.8.0 and the Unclean Machine on sister site(s)....
