But I still need to press that button when switching, right? Is there any automatic switch available?

 

It switches the id4 for me between the MBP & PC but i have another one connecting my usb master keyboard and that on i have to switch so i presume its random the automatic switching
Also switching a button if its in the right place is an easy solution to save £300

I share my focusrite clarett 4 pre usb with my pc and mac mini m1 via a 10 port usb hub plugged into a usb 3 switch.

I've got my keyboard and mouse, Maschine Mk3, Mpc live II, Audio Technika usb turntable, Nektar T6 and Clarett 4 pre usb all plugged into the hub with no real problems.

Only thing that goes a bit weird sometimes is that windows will sometimes still see my mouse, a logitech ergo trackball wireless, but the scroll wheel wont work so i have to click the switch to change it back to the mac and then the pc side will work properly. But thats just windows being fucking awkward as usual.

The hub is a Sabrent 60W 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub + 3 Smart Charging Ports with Individual Power Switches and LEDs includes 60W 12V/5A power adapter (HB-B7C3).
The switch is a Sabrent USB 3.0 Sharing Switch for Multiple Computers and Peripherals LED Device Indicators (USB-SW30).

You really need a powered hub if you want to connect that many things at once.

The first hub i got had a broken switch on one of the charging ports but amazon replaced it the next day.

 

But I still have to take the cable from the USB Switch and connect the cable to the mac or pc, right?

 

Why can't I buy the iConnectivity Audio4c?

You’re looking at this the wrong way. Get a KVM switch and then you can use swap over any interface as well as other USB devices between the two systems at the press of a button.

 

Thanks. I've looked intot he KVM Switch Issue. The problem is the V in KVM. I have an ultrawide 38" screen. the KVM Switches that can handle that resolution with 144Hz are very expensive.

Yes, you just connect one cable to the interface and then one cable to the mac and the pc. it works seamlessly here connecting my mac mini m1 and my ryzen pc for the small price of about £15. How much will your new interface cost you?

It'll work out fine - it's always difficult when new technical things that you don't know arrive at home. Is it the same for others, many don't talk about it because they are embarrassed, some despair and others just manage it that way. Some are electrical specialists who can do it well.
