My goal is connect 2 computers with Soundgrid app in order to offload DAW from plugin chains (macos in my case). The second computer will handle the heavy process

    it’s easy… they said

    No, it’s not

Anyone succeded in that? How? Waves tutorials are misleading as they use outdate versions for their videos and instructions are unclear

This doesn't necessarily fix your problem, but have you tried AudioGridder? my second Mac is too old to run anything this new. It's exactly what you are doing with Waves, but not manufacturer specific. But you are offloading the plugin resource usage mostly to the second computer.

I think it might even help with your waves dilemma, though. Many of the networking aspects are basically the same. If you get AG running, you 100% narrow it down to just this waves setup, and not cables, wifi, networking or hardware issues... maybe it works just to double check for you.
it's a great utility with 2 Macs, but of course it crashes the real virus control plugin.

You know, as Waves installs all that bloatware, my idea was to use it, but it's mission impossible.
I have already tried Audiogridder: theoretically it makes more sense: I can use any plugin with it and not just waves collection, but in practice it is unusable, instead of solving the problems it complicates them even more:
    • To make Audiogridder work, the latency must be raised to 2048
    • Channels out of sync
    • Unresponsive daw
    • Random crash
I will continue to use the usual workflow: freeze tracks to audio

I started contemplating dumping them when they first started adding those types of applications. 11 or 12 convinced me.

many of the things most useful to me are the simple general tools like click removal, etc. and I do not really mind bouncing in place either.
especially for that sort of thing, I rarely if ever automated any Waves plugins so it's just like a print loop.
