this is how bad the the EQ from Toontrack is Programmed ,, if you Can Avoid It..
it Introduces Very Strange "Distortions", I think Toontrack needs Help from a "Good Company to
    Program their SD3 "Effects" ..

I just checked in the same library with same settings and with Pro-Q3. I don't have this problem. SD 3.2.6, Studio One.

Just performed an EQ comparison yesterday to determine if SD3 internal EQ had really improved & found it to be lacking. The stock Reaper EQ performs better. Even at 18db, 24db & 48db slopes, the SD3 EQ does not perform as expected just from listening on studio monitors.

I found early on in SD3 development that you are better of with external processing. AD2 & BFD3 on the other hand, have usable internal effects compared to SD3.

I don't think it's the EQ causing that, it's probably the background noise from the sampler/SD3 itself. When you import a linear sweep test tone into SD3 on one of the drums and play it, it will have a lot of extra noise going on (even when you have no effects at all applied). Don't know why that is though. It makes a very weird pattern in the spectrogram. The noise also gets louder when there is more high frequency energy.

    And no, it's not aliasing.

A kind of intermodulation distortion? Like low bit depth? Hmmm sampler style, yeah, maybe..

No problem with the EQ in PC. Works as expected. Solo you Crash but check if you have sound from another bus like Ambience etc.

Yeah, maybe. It looks a bit like how a bitcrusher effect looks, but not quite. I don't know why it would bit reduce the loaded sample though as I didn't have it set to the low quality 44.1kHz/16-bit mode. The sweep file itself is 48kHz/24-bit, just like SD3 is supposed to work at. Might be that you can't use custom samples in high quality mode in SD3 :dunno:

Same here. From the pictures, it seems like he has muted the OH channel, but you can't see if he has muted any possible sends.

@lasteno Try loading a completely blank SD3 project with no drums. Load one crash only and mute every channel and bus except it, place the EQ on the master channel (out 1/2) and then do the same test. If there really is a problem you should still get the same result. I don't have this problem on PC, but I don't own a Mac so can't do that test. It would be interesting to see your results.

If you want someone to take this seriously at least provide some info into exactly what kind of test you ran on it. I'm not a fan of the EQ but their EQ84 is pretty good.

I tried running the EQ with a HPF on an overheads track from SD3, it performs pretty much the same as the Reaper EQ. Yes, high pass/low pass filters don't completely eliminate frequencies, but analyzer graphs make it look much worse than it actually is.
