    been playing with the beta-GUI version with C Rom for the whole day and why this feels a lot like the best sounding soft-synth ever ?

    The virus, after it appeared, was named the best sounding synthesizer by an editor of SoundOnSound magazine.
    Many other users and musicians also voted it number 1. By the way, "Made in Germany".

    2011 SOS Awards Results
    Best Keyboard / Synthesizer went to the Access Virus TI.

    Because you play factory sounds from 2001-2003 or so mostly trance and techno.
    Try Kamui I/II soundsets, they are fucking cool indeed. It is fatter than any sylenth, spire etc. Less annoying harsh and smeared highs and midhighs, leads are warm, midrangey, boomy, not muddy, play low octaves etc. Crystal sounds, nice reverb there and more. Atmospheric pads.... After playing cool sounds with true vst copy of Virus, it is hard to listen spire, sylenth, z3ta.... They sound bit more plastic and fakey warmness and depth...

    no, I found some old Depeche Mode Soundset from Access website and it can load just fine to the emulator. I think it is the real DM soundset from "Playing The Angel" era. Yeah hard to play Spire after this.

    Just listen to Kamui first and second soundbanks previews on YouTube... and I think there are not too much VSTi synths can sound in 2021 like Virus from circa 2003. Modern patches are super, but still Virus does better sounds from 90s and 00s than most VSTi nowadays. They are close, but something missing. Virus is like in-your-face. Even simple small sounds mixed too quiet will be above and in-your-face your project done VSTi. Stronger, deeper, fatter, not smeared. Btw Virus is VA synth.
    U-he, legend, Virus emu, opx pro II, Viper are one of the toppest stuff. Maybe also Serum as wavetable, RAPID.... And couple of other synths..... Sylenth1 and spire become just as excellent extra.

    I can't use any other vst after this. everything else is literally dead to me. this is the future lol. spire is garbage sounding compared to the real deal.

    Search soul seek for 'ultimate virus pack' has some good retail sound banks from back in 2000-2005. i have it if you can't find it. [;

    I'd recommend being careful linking patches directly to Audiosex. Just because those commercial sound sets are old, it doesn't mean the moderators will not consider them links to warez.

    Because you emulate a physical chip 100% with everything. Ofc its a lot heavier. But since Access Music isnt giving out the resource code, nobody ever will be able to release a true plugin version, which you can compare with Serum, Sylenth1, etc.

    But virus b and c definitely bring something special to the table. And i have to agree no softsynth can get even close to it in a way.

    A bit obsessive but now I'm really curious. Was there ever a sound bank that converted Virus A (rom/bank?) to Virus B? Or even further, what did Virus A actually sound like? I can't seem to find much information on Virus A. I have a hunch that producers were mostly using Virus A back in 1998-2000? Could someone convert the 1997(?) virus a sound bank to b/c for me? Or is it even possible..

    This took presets from A to B to C i think. Even i think "newer" Virus iteration had older presets in ROM.
    Thats what you ended up with ROM Bank H in the TI i think.

    Interesting. I'm after the oldest presets possible.

    I'm also able to load some (or all..?) Ti banks.
