ANY Kind person know how I can fix this activation / timebomb problem in multiple older libraries in Windows 10 (10.0.19042 build version 19042)) The previous version was working fine as is my Mac version. Your help and experience would be greatly appreciated.

Fixed With The Bob Dule Version. Uninstalled R2R and installed Bob Dule fixed the Problem.

Did you try the R2R Kontakt tool?

 

Yeah, I did, There are known issues with the R2R tool, it doesn't work on older libraries and presents some of the older libraries (like box of tricks for instance) as not registered. The Bob Dule tool is the one. Kontakt Patcher 6.6.1

 

I know now more of this stuff. Apparently (some of) those older libraries are straight discontinued by Native Instruments, even with legit Kontakt. R2R's version tries to change the minimum of the legit one, keeping this annoyance.

So yes, bobdule's version rules.

 

I unistalled every NI software (free stuff, kontakt palyer, etc.) and then after restart installed Kontakt v6.6.1 BobDule.
It seem to load fine in Reaper but, now i want to install some kontakt instruments.
The instruments come with a instument.nicnt file.
But i cant add the instruments.
Read forums someone said use the "kontact button" application that starts the add library tool.
I dont have a "kontakt button" application anywhere on my HD, not an add library tool either.
If i try add a library in Kontakt, it says press button "Native access" to add but that gives an error as dont have native access installed unless it was included in the bubdule install.
How do i add instruments?
It seems i dont have the add library tool that comes with the bob dule release even though i installed Kontakt661BubDule.
Im on windows 8.1.
Any ideas what i done wrong?

 

Solved it!
In the Kontakt v6.6.1 BobDule there is 3 executable files.
1 the installer for Kontakt 6.6.1
2 The installer for Creator Tools (not needed)
3 The Kontakt patcher exe

As the instruction txt file says one doesnt need to patch the Kontakt as its pre-patched i didnt run the Kontakt patcher exe.
If one run it there is menu where you can do several things including add instruments/librarys.
After dong this the instrument shows up in Kontakt and works.. Yes!... Thanks Bob Dule.

 

haven't kept up with kontakt releases for a while. how does the portable versions fare against the bobdule version? i used to check out some portable versions many years ago, from reading reports it seemed like they were easy to use. is that still the case, and is it free of library incompatibilities?

 

I havent tried the portable version but im also interested to know how the portable version runs.

 

Never had any prob's with any lib in the portables.

 

Oh, and while we're at it ...
With older Kontakt versions it was possible to install different ones (let's say 5.1 and 5.5)
the same time on the same system, side by side, no probs.
Because of different install directories.
Does this still work?
Would like to keep my perfectly working v 6.2 AND trying some newer libs with v 6.61.

Any experiences?

Having the same problem with the R2R Kontakt, tearing my hair out trying to get libraries registered. Someone else also mentioned trying the Bob Dule version. There seem to be a few different variations of Bob's Kontakt release floating around. Was the one you used that got you going this title from sister site: "Native Instruments Kontakt 6 v6.6.1 FULL Win-bobdule" ? Also, did you have to do any Win registry cleanup to get things working okay? Thanks for any info you can offer!

Ahhh, okay, different ballpark you're in. Anyway, I decided to just go ahead and uninstall the R2R version and try the Bob Dule release. It did immediately recognize all the libraries I had installed. Went from 14 libraries to 27 just by changing over to the Dule release! Thing is though, it takes much longer to boot up Kontakt, and I did have one Kontakt crash so far (that never happened with R2R). Also the libraries take much longer to load with this one. So, I guess there's no "perfect" release yet. I'll stick with the one that gives me back my sample libraries, unless I start seeing too many program crashes.

I'm on Win 10 and have also been suffering the R2R Library Tool woes recently. I'd rather given up hope of a resolution as I've never had issues with R2R releases before but all gods are fallible.

When this thread appeared I decided the bobdule installation was worth a shot as I've got some free time over New Year. Glad to say it works fine. This is the process I followed:

I use Revo Uninstaller Pro (available on various 'non-Sister' sites) to uninstall programs, so I ran this to remove the current Kontakt installation, then deleted the following remaining directories:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt

C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Kontakt

C:\Users\username\Documents\Native Instruments\Kontakt

C:\Users\username\Documents\Native Instruments\Service Center

I also uninstalled R2R's Kontakt Manager Tool.
Everything else (Libraries, etc) I left untouched.

Next, I installed Native.Instruments.Kontakt.6.v6.6.1.FULL.WiN-bobdule, ran the included Add LIbrary tool and all is good including libraries that the R2R tool didn't detect.

One thing to note is that the Add Library tool is found in the Kontakt 6.6.1 Patcher toolkit. Took me a while to figure this out as I was expecting a separate application and thought it was missing from the package. Possibly I'm just a bit slower in the head than usual after the excesses of Christmas and NY!

all Ni products build the database at the first launch.
change the version can result a first longer opening. generally it freeze but dont crash.
the first scan of any library is always longer. 27 registration check take more time than 14.

the first version i made used a separate patcher, the revised integrate the tools utility menu to kontakt button.
it replace "patcher.exe" by a "Kontakt button.exe" launchable from kontakt.
it seems you downloaded the first one.

R2R will only take the last version of libraries, matching with Native Access.xml content.
the timebomb effect is only a newer version out not matching with the registered one's.

the version i patched take all, even home made custom libraries. it don't need to register anything with ras3 licenses.
it can run from kontakt player license or none, keeping the update detection working for every registered user at Ni.

you can compare the modifications done beetwin Kontakt player original and patched with Winmerge.
the R2R version use a lot of change for a poor result based on ras3 emulation
the chalenge job is great but sensible to updates. it is not the best way for a longtime fix.it also cut the legit update detection.
the vkDanilov way i used is simpler, also to reproduce.

i think bypass the ras validation is a better and simpler way for Ni stuff. let's see what will append when Native Access 2 will be out.

google bob dule to get the revised version.
