how to get these pads and guitar sounds?

    Pads.. Any number of Synths creating or Samplers playing back (Arturia, Uhe Spectratronics NI to name a few) processed with reverbs and delays, That sounds granular to me
    Guitar. A good Reverb with Shimmer and long tails + Delay with long repeats. Guitar Rig can achieve this with some editing+experimenting
    These types of sounds are generally achieved by reprocessing

    sorry what do you mean by reprocessing? bouncing and the applying the effects again?

    Correct. It's not uncommon practice in sound design to reprocess and apply FX a few times.

    you can make very interesting granular style pads using Paulstretch. (free utility app) http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/
    It is also in Audacity.

    it almost doesn't even matter what you start with. I do not mean that it was used on this, though.
