Interesting review. Some sounds are very close but many are so different that I wonder if something went wrong during patch conversion.

May I asked why you haven't compared the sound of the chorus?

 

the Arturia and the VirtualCZ seem to suffer from some kind of aliasing, very strong aliasing, compared to the original.

 

I didn't compare the chorus because I just wanted to test the raw sound. The chorus is always on MAX on my CZ. : )

While I haven't explored this fully, it seems like the modulation on some of these patches is set really high on the emulations. Like on the SAXAPHONE patch, for example - the mod amount on the Arturia patch is set to max at 100%. Turn it down to 0 and now it sounds like the hardware. Still sounds different though, but that gargly modulation is gone.

 

i guess i'm alone again (naturally). i actually preferred the arturia versions on some (not all) of the patches. and i'm not a fan of arturia in general. i didn't think much of the pluginboutique versions though.
