I would say it sounds very similar to Faithless Insomnia (which was a modified Pizzicato sound), which was from a Roland JD-800. I also feel that this video matches my old Yamaha CS2x which had a preset called "Insomnia" which was their version of the famous "Faithless" sound. You can hear it here. An octave up, some reverb and tweaking, I think you got it

It's a Roland JD-990 preset if I remember correctly used by Faithless in their track Insomnia. I don't know if Roland Cloud has it, but I think there's something similar in Zenology.

Or just look for a sample of that, shouldn't be too hard to find for such a popular sound.

Oh yeah, massive reverb is key here, otherwise it's fairly dull!

It was from the JD-800 (after 28 seconds she says it). However, every presets in the Roland products are based on the D50 sound

One of the closest I found in VST is Sonic Academy ANA version 1.x, preset called "Coffee At The Sea" or so

It was a preset on the Yamaha CS6X/CS6R called Insomina, which incidentally was also used on the track Insomina by Faithless (skip to 2:17):

Later on she says it was basically an edited clav sound.

It's a sample found in the Roland JV series. I used a JV-1080 in the 90s to create this "pizzicato string techno sound" of that era, so it should be found in the Roland Cloud JV-1080 or XV-5080. Still have the hardware JV-1080 and the D-50, the "Pizzagogo" sound (Enya - Orinoco Flow) is very different.

How could they use a sound from a synth from 1999, when the song was released in 1995?

Lots of Roland PCM synths have this sound: JV1080, XV5080, etc.
Roland Cloud has it! It is in the ROMs of the ones i have listed.

Its for sure this preset, it was overused in the 90s after Faithless has used it for insomnia Moody Mix.

    I'd say it's from a Roland JD-990, patch B-52 Pizzicato.

Sash did something similar in Encore une fois.

It´s Roland JD-990 preset Pizza Hutt, but heavilly processed.

BTW: When I write Pizza HuTT, it´s HuTT, not Hut. NKI patch called in that way in Kontakt conversion.

Whilst we are in the 90s preset spotting mode then...

What do we think Paul Oakenfold used as the "disco organ" on this... (skip to 1.08)

Also re-used by one hit wonders Deuce *skip to 0.01)

And saying it's just a standard organ preset drenched in reverb is not helpful.
I've literally scanned dozens of organ presets from multiple vsts and can't get anything close.
