    1" 12 track lasted all of 5 minutes prior to 2" 24 track.
    I don't think it was really used.

    Totally flawed thinking, especially about you discarding the studio equipment of back in the day.
    Real musicians play real instruments in real rooms with the best microphones in studios every day and many still sound like shit, others who sound decent dont sound organic or sound over processed.
    Its more about the recording techniques and recording chains, the wall of sound etc.
    Limitations yes, style of recording yes, gear hell yes, recording chain hell yes.

    Just to say, I prefer Yoad's one; Yoad Nevo's Neve!
    I did like Mike's EMI TG too.
    But it's way too subtle for my ears now too!
    Took me ages to pick up on what it's doing!
    For anybody else, on macOS at least, if you go into Applications/Waves/Plugins/Documents, you will find hundreds of brilliant manuals!
    WITH clickable contents page etc!
    It gets me down when devs don't bother to create their .pdf files nicely!
    It's a thing for me.
    As a muso, I initially agreed with him.
    But I see you are right, I believe.
    Oh brother.
    Doesn't it just?! :woot: :bow:
    It's a very humbling experience, this thing called life.
    Electric word life, it means forever, and that's a mighty long time...

    True. But that chain itself was so tasty it was enough. Plugins have way less personality hence you need to be more creative.

    I don't really think that "chain", specifically the 1" 12 track!, was ever a thing.
    Have a read about it...
