Just thought I'd have alook at Komplete Kontrol but it seemd it won't load any of my Kontakt libraries as I only ever installed AU's
Is there a way to fix this without having to reinstall all my libraries as vst's???

i would think this is a kontakt issue, but the libraries themselves shouldnt be vst. see if your kontakt pulls up from the little arrow on the top drop down

 

I use Logic and never installed anything but AU .component plugins, either. I got an S49, and reinstalled VST/3 versions also after that.
Otherwise you get "plugin not found" messages. Not that big of a deal though.

Kontakt doesn't show - only 2 items that I accicentally didn't uncheck the vst installs for?

yes, you should see kontakt listed as an instrument there, probably grouped at the top of the list with other NI instruments. just trying to figure out whats working and whats not

 

Yeah it only seems to be reading vst instruments and not AUs.

A really good coder might be able to reverse it. Apparently it's easier to convert vst to au than the other way around.

just fyi, you can load AU .component plugins inside BlueCat Patchwork (inside Komplete Kontrol standalone anyway.). At least all the ones I have tried. (well except Vital, it wanted me to login and could not. I don't use it anyway). you might get some delay playing though....

Just to clear up your misunderstanding, Kontakt libraries are neither au or vst; they are just sample libraries.
Kontakt is a vst or au though.

Are you using a cracked version of KK?
And if so, did you get it from a reputable team and outlet?
OR, your Kontakt isn't patched or cracked properly which is why KK doesn't see it...
And the same question would go for Kontakt too.

Audio Unit - plugins working only at macOS. komplete kontrol software can be used on macOS and Windows only with VST/VST3 plugins. adding AU plugins support only for macOS users - is just a "generator of bugs" in source code.

and what is reason for this action? installing VST version of the plugin is more easily. really.

kontakt libraries - is not a plugin. library installation - is a process of copying samples, scripts, GUI elements of library, etc to destination folder. all you need - install kontakt VST plugin.

1. you need to download cracked komplete kontrol installer.
2. you need to download latest cracked kontakt installer.
3. install cracked komplete kontrol.
4. run komplete kontrol, open preferences dialog, uncheck 2 option (see screenshots in spoiler)

5. quit komplete kontrol.
6. install cracked kontakt.
7. run kontakt, open preferences dialog, check option
"No, I don't want to contribute"

The reason is in the original thread post. Plugins that won't load or be read in a specific format. It's an alternative to load plugins they possess that cannot be seen due to their format. Did not think it was either confusing or rocket science why my reply existed. Yes, they could simply buy another version of what they own. In fact, most plugins on installation give an option on what format to install. But for the ones that do not and not all vst's have au extensions and vice-versa...this is an alternative.

my variant (if downloading full kontakt release - 600-700 mb - impossible):
find the latest version (or version as au) of cracked file "Kontakt.vst" (or ask other users upload it), download this 100 mb file and copy to vst plugins folder. after these easy actions komlete kontrol will see kontakt plugin.

your variant: download C++ project file, download and install C++ compiler, some other file for compatible, try to compile plugin by converting first format to second format. you are IT-BDSM fan?

That's a fair comment perhaps if you read everything I said such as below you might also read before giving anyone else recommendations eh? It's pot calling the kettle black. Yes, you finished, and did it all by yourself with hypocrisy by criticising me and failing to do the very same thing you recommended. All anyone is doing here is attempting to assist. If you want to crap on someone for that because it may not be as informative as your standards require, the make goddamn sure you read everything they said and understood the pure intent before chastising them then doing the exact same thing you chastise them for. I am very calm, man. I am actually friendly too so in short, I did not give full instruction. Please decipher better? It was to me clearly a statement of... "If you want to...."
If you do not see that, fine, that is your choice. I also made it quite clear that the au to vst would need to be done by a coder which I quoted previously. As for the source project, it is accessible and subsequently, I put the author link in case the thread author wished to pursue it by speaking to coders on researchgate.net - if he tried to contact the author. The only stable converter so far has been FXpansion's vst to au adapter v2 so the code link was put there rather than that, in case he knew a good coder. If I went there, I would have given full instruction. If I knew every sub-routine in the source code, that would be full instruction and how to reverse it, I would have, but I do not know how, so I suggested to find someone who could. So instead I pointed so someone else might come along and elaborate on How to help him find a solution if he neither wished to purchase or replace what he had. You completely missed the intent which is now the third and last time I will say it. What I have written here is elaborating and really unnecessary.

But tearing strips off anyone as much as you say you are a good person is not cool man. I do not think either of us have an issue with the other, but it was unnecessary when asking a question that might have given you the right answer probably would have sufficed - INTENT.

If you say something cannot be found, make sure you have searched every possible location on the planet - first.THEN it is misleading if it cannot be found.
