Ok, I am now assuming this is a bug in the release. The VST3 version does not work at all for me. I just cleaned up and reinstalled, this time installing VST2 and VST3 versions. The VST2 versions work fine but VST3 versions still don't work. Therefore, I assume the VST3 versions don't work in the releases maybe, unless someone else has their VST3 versions working fine?!?!

 

Im using Win 10 and Reaper and both Mix Rack Complete v2.6.4.0 and slate tape, both recent are running fine as VST3.

Have you tried them in Reaper?

 

only install vst3 and work,
vst3 location C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Slate Digital
no changes install location, and no symbolic link etc.

I got mine from an all in one pack and just installed that one..there is a link earlier in this post.

 

Like i said earlier maybe not in this one.. I found that if you just install VST2 not VST3 i had more success with it working . I did so with all Slate Digital and now they all work no problem (VST2) .This was after Refresh update of windows 10 and then installing the vcredist2015_2017_2019_2022_x64 from the all-in-one pack. I'm not completely sure (correct me if im wrong) but if you install an older redist over a newer one it can corrupt the more up to date version. You can right click on them in installed programs and repair them.
But from what i can see if you only install one (VST) not both you have more chance of success

iLok cloud was down at 11:30am GMT today when I tried to open my legit Fresh Air. Interestingly it still loaded.

 

OK well i just opened Ableton 11 and its saying problem with Virtual Tape Machine and when i open it its ok but when i try to remove the vst it says to reinstall yet if i open Ableton 10 it works fine and so do the rest . On Ableton 11 the other two work fine.. What is going on with the Slate Digital stuff??? How can it work in one and not in the other?? I'm stopping now .. if anyone has an answer please let me know ...

Please reinstall the plugin using the installer.

I had the same bug message you had with Tape Machine and all i had to do is delete the .xml file in the Appdata/Slate digital/tapemachine. Never had any issue with Slate stuffs after i deleted this...you might want to give it a try.

 

Yes I did that and it stopped doing it ... saw it on the other Slate thread might have been yourself cheers
They all work now as VST 2 . Hopefully others will get them all working taken me ages won't be updating them for a while lol

I am now on Windows 11 Pro, latest updates, all Visual C++ installed, and still have this issue. It's weird cos the VST2 versions open fine, but the VST3 don't open the plugin window at all. Did anyone manage to fix this who had a similar issue? Tried in latest Cubase, Nuendo, Ableton, Reason, and Mixbus, so not a DAW specific issue nor a WIndows 10 or Windows 11 specific issue either?!?!
