Hey yo, I bought reason 11 but now want to upgrade to R2Rs reason 12.
Can someone help me out? Im using the vst3 version of reason in most of my projects. It would be fantastic to open up a project and itll load up reason 12 instead of legit reason 11.

I hope someone can guide me a bit!

 

Why do you not legally upgrade your Reason 11 to Reason 12 ?
It's free, arent?
(personal opinion: do not expect VST3 in Reason prior R18).

Okay I'm sarcastic (I agree), of course nothing is free at Propellerhead Software, oups I mean... Reason Studios.
129 bucks for every upgrade, what's this sales policy?

The worst: new R12 doesn't support VST3 like Native Instruments (aka the dumb kids in class), doesn't support multitimbral instruments (bye bye Omnisphere, VPS Avenger... except by creating complicated multiple instances), doesn't support plugins that output MIDI...

thank you for your reply! Im currently not using Reason as a Daw, but Im using its Vst3 plugin in Ableton and Fl Studio as a sound generator. 129$ are too much for me, just to get HD graphics, thats why I want to change to R2R.
Im curious how to actually install version 12, because the legit version I used is 11. I dont want them both to interfere badly and to possibly lose the abitly to open up my projects where I used the Reason 11 Vst3 plugin.
I guess its not as easy as just installing r2r Reason ontop of legit one and then uninstalling the bought one, right? haha

 

It is better to leave it as it is.So I would think twice about updating that. Everything is going well with them, what advantage do you promise yourself from it.

 

Yep don't change anything now (like BEAT16 recommends too), I'm not Reason specialist, but really changes are not signifiant (IMHO) to upgrade to R12.

It's a nice DAW, have read it have a fantastic workflow (this criteria isn't important for my usage), but the development is very slow and upgrades are too expensive (like Steinberg). At the moment, if I consider a professional DAW for the future, my choice goes to Ableton 11 Live Suite (I'm using Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61 MK2 keyboard, also Maschine MK3 is planned Q1 2022, their integrations in Live are excellent).

 

I also have 11 and want to install the cracked 12. Can you just uninstall 11 and install the cracked 12? Am I missing something?

 

You must read the enclosed NFO carefully.
Not only do you have to uninstall 11 - you have to delete a few other files according to the enclosed instructions.

Legit reason 11 owner could the RE's install with R2R patches if so I cannot get algorithms to work?
