Haha Oh yeah that's right you were the boner for a Bogner guy! I've yet to demo the extacy bogner emulation yet. But if you says it's good then it is so!
Don't a lot of Sludge and Stoner Metal guitarists use it?
You would love IK Amplitube 4 or 5. There is so much Fender and Vox in there, I love it for that too but I always need something for brutal tones too. Actually thinking I should get a separate guitar for that.

It's not halloweem yet! That thing is grind gore brutal death metal heaven of the 90s. It's so versatile in that reguard but I get many modern tones from it.

Pair it with a Marshall 810 emulation of your choosing. I chose Nembrini's and you will be teleported into Cannibal Corpse and Bloodbath land instantly. I seriously just fucking love this thing. It's worth every dime. I Swear my guts and gore to grind!

Have you been using them with impulse responses? Because that's where the realism comes from, otherwise it's an ugly down-sampled digitized mess from bad dsp from the 80s! Oh wait you said you don't even use it with guitar, nvm.

I agree, the most important characteristic of a "MUFF" pedal is how it response to picking sensitivity, and its range can get from the torn speaker broken amp sound to full blast larger than life buzz. Funny how among all the amp simp I've tried only Softube amps responded well to picking sensitivity, that's why I love them. It's not important for modern hi-gain guitar player these days I guess.

I've been lucky to play a lot big muffs pedals like almost 40 versions of vintages SOVTEK, the Trimuff, boutique and whatnot in my 20s and I figured I'm more to the green Russian muff compared to the American one. Bought this boutique clone pedal of the original vintage Russian Muff, it was the best clone of it back then (10+ years ago). It's around USD450 these days, and if you ever come across this one, give it a try.

I heard people are using Muff with 303 these days, is that why you are looking for a good muff sound ? but an American Muff is more suitable for that type of sound I think.

I believe so, but here, clean amp with large headroom, preferably KT88 powered are more desirable like the Sunn Model T, Verellen, Fryette (or the old VHT Pitbull) or Hi-Watt 100 because they want to put 200 pedals in front of it. I don't know how it works really now. Lol

This VHT looks very good indeed,
quite an underrated brand imo..

I never really liked the HiWatt tho..
It certainly has a very Unique sound of its own, both Amp and Cab are Instantly recognizable.
And the Tone is Good indeed.

But I donno man, it always felt like so.. Compressed?,
like a very Tight and Thick leathery thing, just like the Tolex skin it is wrapped in.. lol

It's interesting and Unique, but I donno..
I always felt it would be better if it was more Dynamic, more loose..
(maybe also in terms of Bias.. like less tightly biased, and with a slower/longer Bias X factor?
that could make it more bluesy/mojoey..)

Maybe that's why you said "200 pedals in front"?

But yeah, I guess it really succeeds at being a HiWatt,
and not a Marshall, VOX, Boogie or Fender.. like many other amps tried to.

Sunn amps are even used for drone. Look at SUNNO))) the band uses their amp right in their name. The band is great too. I need to mess with more VHT, thanks for reminding me. Orange do a great job for these types of genres too. I've not tried any HiWatts though. IK has everything we both mentioned.

Random but recently I learned the JST Toneforge Misha Mansoor has a "back of the amp" feature where you can change tube types, switch pre amp eq's and change the power tubes + transformer types. Blew my mind.

    yeah, big fan!

saw a lot of stoner rock band going with the Orange and this Green Amp, I don't know much about it though, never played one or heard any vst of it.

you mean the old plugin or there is a newer version ? I lost count of how many amp Misha endorsed

Cory Wong wasn't for me but that's not to take away from any of the Neural amp sims, they are all top notch. Just not for the types of tones I'm seeking being heavily influenced by more extreme styles of metal. Every Mesa Boogie emulation I ran into from any brand has been top notch. Even their more vintage stuff. I gotta try that new Extacy emulation soon though.

Hahah too true! I kept trying to make it sound good and on every channel I hated it. It didn't matter if it was clean, crunchy and most definitely not high gain or metal tones. I just didn't like Bias Amp at all, even compared to free stuff lol. Bias FX was better though. Thing is, if Bias Amp improved their sound then everything else is there for that product to be kicking ass. It has every ounce of potential to go from alright to phenomenal.

If something doesn't slap me in the face to the point of getting a reaction out of me right away then it's usually not that great from the get go. I was instantly wowed with Nembrini and Neural the first time I launched it. All of these are worth their pennies.

Same with the recent Klirrton emulation, which I heard there would be one of the Fleisch pedal soon too. Right out the box that thing amazed me to the point that I don't even think I have to make that many presets for it, the thing covers most bases.
It's such a unique emulation compared to most of amp/pre-am and pedal sims that are going for mostly modern samey tones in the hi gain world. It's not just for death metal by any means. Long live Audiority for this perfect gem.

Yes! Stoner rock and Doom Blues guitarists swear by these and there are most definitely Orange emulations out there. Ampiltube 4+5 has them. Amplifkation Clarent/360 too. I heard but can't confirm 100% that there are amp channels emulated in Archetype Abasi from Neural based on Orange amps as well.

Black Rooster - Cypress TT-15 is a Orange Green model emulation. Kazrog - Thermionik Ogre Excess/OgreTube too. VStomp amp has one too but it flies under the radar compared to the rest I've listed out.

You have to update it if it's under version 1.1 then it will show up.

JST Bassforge Hellraiser now has a digital EQ that you can use in parallel with the analog eq it had in it already also.

What, are you trying to tell us that twenty some generic trap sample packages doesn't float your boat? I am surprised. :guru:

I wish they made a permethezine section separate from the rest of releases so I don't have to see anything purple jerking the swag side of my chain for pages on end starting from the front. Or at least way to filter out fast food from the main courses using search.
    I have a trill allergy.

Yeah... there isn't a single loop "collection" I have ever seen that I would want. As for samples I like and have some of the Boom Library stuff which is really nice. I have all of the percussion and drum vsti & libraries I need and can record my own as well.

Yeah, that’s the other thing I say to myself, that people might need or want them, but then I find myself getting wound up because it’s stuff like samples or midi packs and because it’s not what I want. Talk about feeling entitled!

True to that! The poll said most the users make Hip-Hop or Trap around here. But sometimes there will be a gem wedged between 25 fake chains which goes unnoticed. Tbh there might even be a search feature similar to this but I'm probably just dumb as shit and am overlooking it somehow like I usually am.

I feel not bothered by anything else posted on the main. I have setup a RSS reader, which shows a bit delayed if something is released. So i dont need to OCDed reload the main page ...

And i can even do something else ...:wink:

About Search feature: problem is that sample packs are so cryptic named, you have to checkout the demos or at least read the description, which i stopped a long time ago for samples.
Still appreciate that Stuff is released!
