I absolutely love it too. I was thinking about switching to Cubase at some point but V5 just about added everything I needed. The score editor is amazing too, they really hit the mark with everything they've introduced lately.

You are wrong because you misunderstood. Let me explain, please:
He seems to say that a daw records in a higher, standard PPQN rate, and THEN converts it to 48 PPQN and exports it, yeah? :winker:
And he was talking about wanting Reaper to do that, yeah?
And I said "Exporting" MIDI (specifically!) is daw 101", yeah?
    That means including Cubase, yeah?
I never said Cubase couldn't do it, okay?
    YOU are wrong. Period.
But still you say this, yeah? Why? :
It isn't my fault you misread something or whatever.
Chill, because you are in the wrong.
    I know.
I've owned it for years and I started using MIDI around 1985 as a kid, and I was working with as a keys player for an international #1 Sony artist by 18.
Your passive/aggressive way is nothing now I'm 48 and an initiate.
    Thanks.
    @Barry T lol

    Hopefully you have context now.
    Thanks again.

i use studio one and fl studio but now because of thease update's do most of the work in studio one i love it main reason i still use fl studio is the key edit for me is a little better and im more used to it. So what i do is im better at creating lead riffs more so than chord progressions so i write my lead part down in the piano roll in fl bring it in to s1 to use the cord track function bring the cords in to fl make the midi needed like the cords bass etc from the lead/leads and bring them back in to s1 and work on the track.

    That's cool.
I got a lot of tracks together in the 90s using different things in that way, usually because the gear was restrictive in some way.
It breeds creativity to perhaps be restricted in some way when creating.
Just do what works for you.
At the end of the day it's about the track.
It doesn't matter how you get there at all.
Oh, and a warm, high welcome to AS from me!

    hi guys, new member here,

yes, same is true for me. i really like S1 but still like the easiness of FL. But i think if i watch some piano roll tutorials, i will love the S1 piano roll too. Not having to switch could be cool, too. But exporting stems to switch to S1, after composing in FL, also has advantages (fresh mind, cpu usage reset, stem backup). i think it has come to a point where I think more about how to do it, than actually do it.

on topic: 5.4 is really great, i love it.

I kinda gave up on S1 a while ago and haven't looked back ever since, but it's good to know that the newer versions are finally getting there.

Ex FL user here. I don't consider FL as a DAW because, every other DAw in the world follows the same work flow of Track-Channel-Mixer workflow except FL. What the FUCK? There's no proper track which is linked to channel, Playlist is a fucking toy. I mean I used to praise FL like a wanna be Nibba but then I understood it is just a toy.
FL can't handle normal PPQN rates and starts to crap in its pants...

Comparing FL to any other DAW is a simple joke.
For kids, FL is a good starter. Many people make good music with FL. But doesn't mean FL is good.
    SORRY.

Use S1's piano roll with macros.
I have uploaded many useful macros as well. Plus I have created some macros which are not even natively possible in S1. There are a lot of scripts as well.
Use them and trust me, you will never use any other Piano Roll.
FL's Piano roll was the only great thing about it but S1's piano roll with the macros are just out of this universe kind of experience.

    Daw snobbism is a joke.
    All DAWs are simply tools.
You are like 20 years behind the time when it was fashionable to hate on certain DAWs for being non-professional.

It's like with cars, there are different brands that you can buy, but in the end, cars remain and are.

Again, I am an ex-FL user. I know my shit. This is no hate or something. This is pure truth. Bringing up an FL age old feature on S1 thread is a Joke.

But with cars, when you buy a Volkswagen or Volvo, you call it a Volkswagen or Volvo. Yes, both Volkswagen or Volvo or Lambo or Rolls or McLaren P1 takes you from point A to point B. With daws, there are people, who use Volkswagen or Volvo but then starts comparing it with P1.

I know, in the age of Cancel culturists, puking out the truth is now considered 'being 20 years behind'

My point was, yes, good talented people can do great even with crappy tools. That's why those people are good and talented. But that doesn't mean the crappy tool becomes a good tool.

Everyone has the free choice and can install and test the DAWs and then decide on a DAW. So free choice ...! Now comes the human being, with all his faults and character weaknesses and strengths. Let me put it this way, some are mentally incapable of properly evaluating something. Some have a learning disability, but big mouths. Some are smart and some are a burden. some here are self-absorbed and just play the ego card, so it's about the human ego. Some have a mental disorder and are therefore a case for the psychiatrist. Some think the others are stupid, but they are themselves. So blind - criticism of whose person we are simply converted into the opposite.

There is a difference between Truth and Feel
But ppl here (and everywhere in the whole world) don't seems to get this point ...

    You love FL studio ?
    Nice
Does it change anything related to HOW IT WORKS ?
    NOT

    Case closed

i know im new here but that self righteous elitism that fl studio is a toy anuhbav is provoking is just asinine and plain fucking dumb sorry no daw is better than any other daw they all have different tools that some people prefer than others. You can use fl studio like any other daw but has other ways people preferer to use it its mainly down to choice.
