To me there is a lot of nice analogue hw atm but is there a bit of a gap for that roland sound? I like moog but im not so fussed to spend so much money. Is there anything that sounds like a juno or jupiter? Arturia great but can't do roland, same with korg.

you're prolly a bit too late but you're gonna wanna check out the boutique series from roland as mentioned by ovalf, remakes of the classic roland synths but they are just about sold out everywhere but you might find them second hand, sound it very good in them and they take up no space at all and they are true to the old ones and have no midi apart from notes, pitchwheel and modwheel

I have a Roland JX8P that sounds great but needs some serious love and attention. Missing keys, gimpy slider, etc.
if you're willing to bring it back to peak, you'll have a SERIOUSLY nice synth on your hands. PM me.

With digital oscs, filters etc.? Never, no way. There is Omnisphere 2 and a few good jp8 kontakt libs out there which sounds pretty good. Most of these new synths are crap compared to the classics (soundwise) IMO but maybe the DaveSmith+Oberheim "OB-6" will be satisfying.

actually yes way but i'm not in the mood to go into a analog vs ACB discussion. plenty of people who have the originals have tested them and say there's no difference in the sound

I even considered getting myself a Jupiter 6 once, until I found this.
I'm not saying you have to buy a blofeld, but if you have a really good synth with a good choice of oscillators, modulation routings and filters, you can practically make it sound quite like anything.

    I own a Jupiter 8, Jupiter 6, Juno 106, Juno 60, Two SH-101s, D-50, D-70 and a slew of rack synths from Roland.
I can answer any questions you may have.

So you're actually talking about plugins of hardware, yeah?
    And that's all hardware, so...
    Plugins don't, no...
    Hardware too.
Good luck selling it, hardware owner and misreader! lol

Perhaps just talk amongst yourselves; I'll reply to the OP on topic, as only two other members have! :)
    TAL-U-NO-LX and TAL-J-8.
    https://tal-software.com/
The Juno 106, and I think the Juno 60 too, had one DCO. Simple to find with any basic plugin.
The Chorus component was a big part of the sound.
TAL also make a very good Chorus plugin from that Juno Chorus component.
These two facts should help you.
If you are a wanting software not hardware, that is!
Because your title and OP can be seen in two ways, as I have pointed out.
Seems like you are asking for software because you mentioned Arturia and Korg, who aren't in the business of selling hardware clones, yet Arturia have made software clones of other manufacturer's hardware.
You are asking for an apple yet you want it to taste like an orange, imo.

One whole page of OT. Marvelous to read through.
Please can you ask via Inbox; you have hijacked a thread about another subject.

I reject any Boutique clone: they have very little to do with the originals. The Behringer Deepmind instead (despite not being a clone), has a lot in common with the juno 106. The price is really low, considering it's an analog poly.
    I recommend it

Black Corporation's ISE NIN is a Jupiter 8 clone. Behringer has just started a Jupiter-8 clone as well ...

Anybody thinks the thread opener is still interested in this topic or even reading this after 5 years and 8 months? :)

Exactly. But others may find the TAL link useful.
So now this thread has a usefullness!
The title and OP were bewildering, obviously!
He probably thought everyone was ignoring his question.
Which I thought I eventually dechiphered! lol
    But maybe not.

For Roland and BOSS, the small units use a Roland branded ESC2 chip as the cpu/dsp. It runs the zen core for the boutique units so it's basically an emulator.

It runs eSOL eCROS embedded OS and digging deeper, it's an ARM derivative also seems to be based on a 7-Series Xilinx FPGA XC7VX330T

Some software synthesizers sound better than expensive hardware synthesizers. Software is cheaper - it doesn't take up space and won't break. Here are a few links - Listen and you know immediately - Yes, that's it or that's not what I wanted ...!
