Now Im the kind of producer who wants to really own (=bought) the stuff he uses. I dont feel comfortable using illegal copys or cracked software. Personal decision, but I also respect if people decide to just download everything from AudioZ.

But what Im using AudioZ for, is downloading stuff Im thinking of buying. For VSTs theres most likely a demo version, but there are no demo versions for sample packs. Some companys have free preview kits with a few samples, and thats something great to do in my opinion. But most companys dont have that.

So while searching for a really good 808 Kick/Bass sample pack, with lots of quality 808's, I discovered a sample pack by Sounds in HD called 808 Drums. They claim the pack has "60 Regular 808′s tuned from the key of A to G#". The pack is promoted through SoundPack Fyler, a sister company of BeatStruggles. No wonder BeatStruggles tested the pack as absolutly awesome...

So I went on AudioZ, downloaded the pack, extracted it and took a look. The "60 Regular 808′s tuned from the key of A to G#" are more like "One regular 808 tuned from the key A to G#". Okay, it variates in three lenghts, but its still just one sample... I can tune shit myself!

Now thanks to AudioZ I know that now, otherwise I wouldnt have and properly bought this rip-off.

Just wanted to share this story *yes*

Oh BTW, if anyone knows a really good sample pack with lots of quality 808 Kicks and basses, please share *yes*

That's true story, and thanks for "try & buy" stuff...

A lot of new and old stuff is pure shit !

... try to dig a old cd/dvd archive, if you find old zero-g and other stuff like Vapor, Morphology etc... you might supprise with sound's :)

I dont see how this is fake advertizing. I would expect to get exactly what they said, which is what you got. There is reason why they multisample drum hits in different keys, and this is especially important for kicks. You must never tune a kick sample. I mean you might get away by tuning it up/down one semitone, but that is maximum. Avoid treating low frequency samples this way at all costs.
That aside I would recommend Goldbaby Tape 808 and Tape 909

Yeah Goldbaby kicks aren't bad. you can also get D16 Nepheton, really good emulation. AudioRealism Drum Machine is up to the task as well.

Oh yeah and AudioZ rules! :headbang: :break:

If 8Dioboe would have been released a couple of months before I wouldn't buy it. Disappointing library.

Also thanks to AudioZ I had a chance to try Lumina. Just a few hours before it hit AudioZ I was thinking about buying it. Now I'm really glad I didn't.

808s are abused. Sounds in HD make some good drum kits, though. They have a new one for about $59, which is slightly hefty, but their drums are always good. 808s are everywhere, though.

Its fake advertisment. They promised you 60 different 808's, but its always the same.

Giving out 808s in different keys makes as much sense as giving out instruments in wav format seperated in different keys. You know theres a reason why there are formats like SF2 or Kontakt... What do you do, just load in 6 samples for one sound, just to play with the instrument in 6 different keys? That makes absolutly no sense and is just needlessly complex!
But perhabs you dont listen to trap...? Or music with sub basses?

Whatever thanks for sharing the Goldbaby tip, after Catalyst recomending it too I might have to check it out.
