Wow, how much stuff I said and agreed. Where did I said all that? Are you a psychic?
Ok, this is a multi-answer to all: I agree to disagree

    Speaking personally....

There's no denying the big wave was big especially if you were into Softtube.
The hype bubble around Soothe 2 was nicely burst too.

In practice, however very little of that wave has made it into my normal workflow except possibly the Slate update to Ana2.

We had the same people still begging for UVI Falcon, Nexus 3, Output Arcade and Reason.

Partial versions of Nexus 3 and Arcade were then released later in the year by other teams and surprise surprise, they are now yesterday's news for the "collectors".

I've just had a look on plugin boutique and plugin alliance to look for something that would excite me if it were suddenly to be made available when the gong goes, and to be honest... I really couldn't see anything.

Possibly the VST version of mixedinkey but I would buy that anyway if it came down to a more sensible price on Black Friday.

I guess what I'm saying is that there seems to be very little genuinely innovative software released in the last couple of years that we don't already have access to, so I'm the least excited I've ever been waiting for a big xmas/new year release.

I would like to use Nexus, but i dont trust a black boxed themida packed dll file, which i want to load to often ...

I can sure see that Nexus would have some use for real. EW Play pretty sure that i could be, along with my UVI stuff, which a huge amount of stuff.
Does Best Service still make good stuff?

Maybe Steinberg stuff?! (i am not sure what you would need to do, to get around to land this?!) Reason?!

Its been a few days, well and i still dont have any ideas ...

i bought waverunner a few years ago, used to have a microwaveXT but was stupid enough to sell it. i always wanted to try it out with falcon but since they have no demo version i've never been able to find out if it was worth investing in it. so i'm hoping i'll finally get to try it out. only thing is that i'm on macos but also have 2 older laptops that i got from my parents and was already planning on putting vst's on it that are windows only. but it might still be to good to be true

@Stevie Dude good guess. Ohh my, Falcon alone would be awsome for me. No need for additional stuff. The grain engine for pads from vocals, etc enough to keep me busy.

Sorry, I didn't realise your uninformed guesses were somehow more valid than my uninformed guesses.

    My bad.

So katze-01.jpg was this year's Black Friday date, encoded as Unix Epoch timestamp:

This one I could understand being able to take a lucky guess on.

How on earth did you get the 9999985000 one though?

Googling it leads to a Bitcoin transaction:
I tried my hand at this, but I wasn't able to crack it on my own.

Looked through the images with `strings` and hex viewer.
Curiously, the first image has `GuE$t` as a string embedded in it (thought that might have been the password) but appears to be a coincident.
    Code:
    Downloads/10000th-R2R/r2r10000
    ❯ stegseek --seed katze-01.jpg
    StegSeek 0.6 - https://github.com/RickdeJager/StegSeek
    [i] Progress: 99.98% (4294255000 seeds)
[!] error: Could not find a valid seed

    ❯ stegseek --crack katze-01.jpg ../../rockyou.txt
    StegSeek 0.6 - https://github.com/RickdeJager/StegSeek
    [i] Progress: 99.48% (132.7 MB)
[!] error: Could not find a valid passphrase.

I guess I was using the wrong tools.

If any of you want to play along at home, the easiest ways are:
    1. Use this web service which lets you run many common steganography tools from a browser, and produces a report
      - Example: https://aperisolve.fr/06962200bed8f57b831d713da70d5c08
    2. Use a Docker container that has most of these tools and several convenient cracking scripts installed
      - See: https://github.com/DominicBreuker/stego-toolkit

    To extract the secret message out of the first image for example, is just (assuming you have Docker installed);
    Code:
    ❯ docker run --rm -it -v $(pwd):/data dominicbreuker/stego-toolkit /bin/bash

    root@a8510233aef3:/data
    $ outguess -k 1637895600 -r katze-01.jpg output
    Reading katze-01.jpg....
    Extracting usable bits: 101404 bits
Steg retrieve: seed: 9645, len: 6339

Unfortunately even the "decoded" payload is not in a plaintext format.
I haven't figured out what encoding/format the extracted data is in.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    One thing I DO think:
    • The extracted data from each image puzzle need to be combined as a multi-part zip/rar, the way that uploads often do (.r00, .r01, .r02, etc) and together will form the viewable "prize"

    @Stevie Dude
    For me the message was:
    1. internal hardisk = A lot of stuff coming up
    2. savings = save your money downloading the plugins from them.
    3. 26 November 2021 black friday = Enjoy black friday instead of buying plugins, or they might start releasing the plugins at black friday.
    4. Shared = will be shared
    5. buy 1 get 1 free = for both platform WIN and MAC (Or UVI's Propaganda)

I think the possible next wave from R2R would be also the bye bye wave from the audio warez scene.
    R.I.P. R2R, long live RET.

Just saying that some of the VSL stuff is above and beyond anything else out there, in particular their pianos.

How about some positive thinking? R2R continues until the ass is in the coffin, then you can write R.I.P.

Why are you all posting random guesses/theories?
The actual answer is there, hidden inside of the images.

It's a game/puzzle, R2R encoded data in each of the images protected by a password.

    It's called "Steganography"
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steganography

There are 3 people in this thread talking about it -- the passwords to the first 2 images have been posted here, with @Lepow saying he has cracked all but the 5th image.

There is no "This is my philosophical interpretation of the images", no there is a LITERAL message _INSIDE_ of the images
But you have to use tools (and "play the game") to extract it.

    ------

@Lepow posted last Tuesday "All but kat5 cracked", so I'm pretty certain that he has cracked it by now, and also this person may have cracked them all (he posted password to second image):
