I really would like to have more control over what I can do within the S1 browser. I do use the Files tab for custom preset directories but I would like to be able to create Folders inside of the Favorites Folder of the Instruments & Effects tab to place my favorite whatever... Amps, Synths, Comps, etc and I would like them of course to be able to use the thumbnail/gallery views.

    Any way to do this?

Have you tried the 'Right-Click' option to create a new folder in Favorites?

    It's not Windows Explorer.

I did not mention Windows Explorer or, macOS Finder. This is a function in the Studio One Browser.

    Organize your Plugins in Folders!

I know. I've spent all day working with this frustrated but successfully and there are steps and precautions that are not being mentioned by anyone including PreSonus.

The default view in the Instruments or Effects tab is Vender. If you try to right-click to create a folder those options are not available. You have to choose the folder tab within each. Then you can created, delete and move content.

I already watched the video you shared. The first one I watched is linked below. I think it has better information even though it's an older video. It's really important if you're going to be doing a lot of customization, moving things around and creating folders to have the plug-in manager pulled up beside the browser which isn't mentioned in the newer video. It just makes things much easier.

Also in the older video he talks about not sweating deleting folders and files in the Folder view because they are still there. They aren't deleted. Yes and no.

There are a few things to keep in mind if you plan like I did to do a massive reorganization of content in the Folder Tab of the Instruments and/or Effects (I'm still not done).

If you delete content in the folder view I fould that it was then missing from the vender view as well and it did not reappear even after a restart... which after doing a lot of work was a pain in the ass. If I remember correctly, the fix was right clicking in one of the views or maybe even in the plugin manager and selecting 'revert'. It will ask you to confirm that you want to do this... Yes. This brings everything back... but... it erases everything you had been creating as well, so it's back to square one. Also there was 2 occasions when Studio One crashed (which never happens on my system). When it started back up the first time... all progress had been deleted... AGAIN. When it crashed the 2nd time some progress was deleted.

I found it best to work for about 10-20 minutes and close Studio One then restart it to save your progress. I'm not sure where the new custom folders and list I've made are being stored. I can't find them. I'd like to back them up.

Though it's taking a pretty good chunk of time to organize things the way I want... it's totally worth it. I love the improved workflow and accessibility I now have to what I need to access. No more trying to remember that cool plugin I used a few weeks ago or adding a long list of plugins to the Favorites folder to try and sort through. The Favorites folder is unorganized to begin with. It's one folder. Now everything is organized with visual thumbnails as well.

    Hope this helps someone.
