Like 90% of all the sample packs on Audio wareZ say they are good for trap or lo-fi. Even like a straight blues guitar pack will say "good for tracks like Post Malone, Young Thug"....

Are trap and lo-fi really this popular? Every day there's 15 more packs that are good for trap and lo-fi. And I'm like.... really?

Wow. If I had a penny for every thread like this that has been started...
You do know what is going to happen, don't you...?
Right. Well you should go to our sister site; it's even worse! :winker:
Samplepack blurbs are all just big-up advertising to whoever they want to capture.
    Don't believe the hype.

I want a death metal sample pack like you won't believe but I make my own death metal sample packs. I'd rather track real drums but I'm not there yet cause there's still more equipment I need to buy to make that happen finally. But after that I won't be using any sample packs whatsoever.

I'll have extra room on my hard drive for episodes of the simpsons.

Historically, every lover of a particular style of music and even multiple styles, have asked why about styles they either do not like and possibly may not understand either the style or how anyone could like it.
Most people had parents who probably thought the music any of us liked was not music or they resembled my first statement too.
Every type of music has its place in the music spectrum. Popularity changes as sure as classical, jazz, country , R&R, Motown, R&B and more were at times in history considered to be popular music.
So does anyone actually like trap and Lo-fi? Probably because there would not be so much EDM in the world, even though I am not one of them that follows it with any interest.

I still don't exactly know what Trap is, go figure..!

But for the looks of it..
Seems to be just another trend where Emo Idiots of the Vain yet Tough urban-kind,
pretend to "sing" melodies with "message" to the braying brainless masses,
who take it as the message of the Prophet and shape their entire lives accordingly..

    More or less..

    And perhaps even more importantly,
it's the type of music one needs to Blast on his portable JBL speaker,
an surround oneself in it, as if it was a personal fragrance (or call it odor).. in order to be Hip..

Now some might think/assume/know I'm surely an Idiot,
but hey at least I'm not listening to that crap..! lol

Strangely enough my closest encounter with the trap kind,
was when one very Very famous/respected Composer of Video Game Soundtracks sent me this strange Post Malone track..
(he must have been kidding, but he' so busy he never got to clarify his motives..)

Some shit that mixed Epic Orchestral with Pop and Rap..?
something Horrid like a curry/shawarma flavored bubblegum or somethin, telling yo...

But well I survived the experience, and I'm now here to report it..

The young people wanted to create something of their own, what belonged to them, the past music was old, unfortunately their skills were not enough to create something new and meaningful. They threw everything in one pot - stirred three times and the new style was ready - which, by the way, reflected the state of mind. A trendy word was created "Trap" and other mindless terms ...! Rumor has it that the style is officially called "For the garbage can".

No, it means drug house. The word already existed; it was chosen.
But yeah, it's just another HH sub-genre. Coming from the slums, apparently.

I need to make my signature what I'm yet again about to say!

This is an industry. The facade you see is fake.
I was told the Christmas #1 in advance around September usually, for many years. (Bear in mind the tracks hadn't yet been aired!)
We were told who has the 3 album deals, which are all always guaranteed to be #1.
They have the finances to promote something to ridiculous degrees and then we believe it must be 'something'!
Can you see what I'm trying to say yet?

Unless one gets right to the centre of the inner sanctum, one may not experience these truths.
I know other successful people that haven't experienced the bad side so much, but which also means they didn't make it as big as the people I am talking about! (edit: I didn't "make it big" because I walked away from it all. Took a lower rung down the ladder instead.)
And the larger agenda covers a wider expanse than you may think.
Remember when Obama was bigging up LGBTQ etc?
What was in the charts at that time?
What were the videos showing you?
What were certain celebs, and their offspring, being shown to be like in the MSM at that time?

If you love music, then just do it for the love of music. Always.
    Maybe doors will open.
    But be careful.
That is all I can suggest really.
And I say it because your question may imply that you are actually in belief of the hype.

Some people like to invent new words for things that already exist. Scene terms that only insiders understand. This is how you identify with your genre. I'm a trap musician for example but what translated means "nothing new under the sun" all copied and reassembled.

    What is trap
A definition Trap has been a new style of hip-hop since the mid-2010s, which is characterized above all by its leaned flow, its minimalist beats and its increasing melody. This variety of rap stands out above all with its detached sound and, in contrast to previous subgenres, is less defined by its brutal gangster attitude. The fact that the trend is still young makes it easy to forget that the concept of the trap has a much longer history behind it. We trace the genesis of a musical genre.

Lmao, y'all must be in your 70s or something. Trap was created in the 90s, it started gaining more attention in the 2000s and has since become as big as it is now. It's not a genre that was created recently.

Regardless, I do agree it can being mind numbing especially considering that rappers who make trap usually don't say anything meaningful in their songs.

I fkin hate the trap packs. mainly coz they are made by people who have never been in the trap. not even a smidge
you can tell when someone has the experience in their music

    real trap shit from 2013

    2021 plate

    the exact same vibe

then we have the sample pack makers  this is not trap the feeling is way off. they even called it "dark"

You are not going to get an authentic trap pack on the sister site ever. we don't make sample packs

Thanks for the tutoring on the term trap.

Diversity of opinion: It's good that there are different opinions and different tastes. In my opinion, really good music depends on the intelligence and possibly the level of education of the musicians. Sorry Michael - I hope you understand that some musicians here call such music garbage. Here is a sample video - for me to hear it is the nightmare.

It exactly reflects the spirit of the times and the state of mind:
Little hope, a lot of frustration, little money, few jobs, little education, too many drugs, too much crime.

It seems that "Trap" is simply the same old hip-hop, but with a new name or electronic music (often times using brass samples and synths with portamento) with or without rap vocals.

I'm kinda neutral about the genre generally, but here (in my country) it is getting SUPER SHITTY ANNOYING with 90% of the trap music are about this one "clan" here saying bad things about that other "clan" on the other side of the country being poseurs and not "True" whatever that means, with all the swearing words all over the place. I don't mind about all those swearing but these clowns are doing it while preaching about religious stuff like they are holiest person on earth in the same "song". I don't have a problem with religious music.

Everybody wants to have a "rap track" (as they call it here) even some average TV host, cosmetic product businessman/businesswoman, public figure instafamous, best teacher of the year, LGBTQ leader, shitty film director that happened to be the son of a successful known film director, everyone! the songs are bad they can't even rap properly!
