Considering the plugins market today, with the hardware side removed, I think UAD excels in a superlative way in reverbs and preamps. For everything else there are so many alternatives of an even higher level. I believe that UAD and Avid enjoy such a prestigious reputation for the fact that for at least 15 years and up to 7-8 years ago they were objectively the best products on the market from the software side. But in 2021 this has become an anachronistic discourse. Today we have exceptional and above all native software products. Of course that's just my opinion.
Its actually not that difficult of a task to Emulate the SHARC DSP, it would be alot easier than the Motorola DSP563xx Emulator we made as it uses floats instead of 24/48/56 bit integers https://dsp56300.wordpress.com/ https://github.com/dsp56300/gearmulator/ ;) Last edited: Sep 1, 2021
and what if R2R was an arm and hammer of the New World Order? They could even be .gif Steinberg...the VST Consortium...Ableton...Fruity....all of them, they all could be in on it. AI nano DJ software injected into my eustachian tubes..
to be very honest with you this came to mind especially with the word "game" sounding kinda Truman show-ish in these times
The 1st September came and went, and nothing has materialised. It probably is a game as they said in the NFO, especially because R2R are disbanded now. I'm sure R2R are having fun seeing people speculate but personally I don't think this will amount to anything.
Auto tune for example. many uad plug-ins exist in native. Also, Uad dimension D, after update is now totally different plug-in, because Arturia license is over. If you need Uad dimension D, you can use Arturia, because it’s same algorithm. Same story goes to other UAD plug-ins
UAD Plugins cant and wont work without the hardware unfortunatley, they are written in DSP Code, this is why the DSP would need to be emulated Other plugins have been released natively because those companies have access to the source code
You misunderstood me what I mean, is UAD plug-ins, can be founded in plug-ins from other developers, because they using SAME algorithm. If you take UAD plug-in, and plug-in with same algorithm from other developer, put them on same signal, and switch phase - you get null also interesting example: sonnox inflator and Melda Shaper - with right setting of melda shaper, you can get Null. Why pay more
R2R has never talked about dates (even the Black Friday date is not necessarily to be specific to their new releases). R2R are alive and more powerful and motivated than before, and they made it clear in their latest celebration nfo of the 10000th. We just have to wait, no one knows when the next R2R gems will appear, but it will be something great, as they have always done. Have faith, I am sure our heroes will amaze us
Actually they can, let me explain: As far as I remember, if you are a legit owner of uad stuff, but you cant take your dsp everywhere, you have to use the computer in which they are registered, this is through doing something directly on your computer like kinda letting it scan the hardware and then unplug ir (i'm not 100% sure about the procedure, but I remember I read it from a known forum: it may be either uad' official one or gearspace)
I wish them the best, I did not have money to produce when I was younger, I made progress thanks to them and today I have been able to buy more than 80% of the plugins, people criticize them but it helps the music industry, yes people he does not understand this is that he does not know what the business is about, gracas R2R, VR and other groups
Things dont add up with this idea, the plugins run on the DSP so it would never work, Whoever said this must have been having a joke
Yeah, if UAD stands out for some plugin types, it would be reverbs / modulation, and eventually preamps yeah... You lost me. UAD lost the Roland license some years ago (since 2017 ? as far as I can recall) and turned the Roland Dimension D plugin into the Studio D Chorus. Same algo, but without the Roland branding. Same sound. Or am I wrong ? What is the link with Arturia's ? Do you say that they developed the plug-in back then for UAD in 2007 ?
September 1 is just the date the announcement was made. Remember, they're based in Japan. As of making this comment, it's September 2 over there. Just be patient.
